"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen. Today, Experiment a72b will be performed on Weapon X1, also know as the Feline Assassin." Goodie, I think sarcastically. I'm secured on a cold, metal chair that faces Stryker's audience of nicely dressed men and women. "Weapon X1 is still in the very early stages of her mutation, catlike abilities and looks, which, at the moment, are hidden thanks to the power-suppressing collar around Weapon X1's neck. I have perfected a serum that can enhance her abilities, or should I say, move her a few more years into her mutation." Dad continues, making me frown. What is he talking about? Enhancing my abilities, what does that mean? I don't have time to think before Dad nods his head in a cold-looking woman's way. She nods back and presses a few buttons. Needles, held up my large, metal machines, turn on and make a whirring sound. The woman presses a few more buttons and the needles move closer. I let out a stifled gasp when the needles puncher my temple, my arms, and even one directly into my ribs. I soon compose myself and focus on the ceiling lights. Very soon, the feeling of pain fades away as the needles retreat. Then the real pain starts. I can't help it, I let out an ear piercing scream. My hands crack as they grow longer; my back curves into an unnatural shape. Then my scream turns into a roar. I keep growing until the collar around my neck breaks and the cuffs restraining me to the chair rip. I slip gracefully to the floor. Curiosity fills me and I turn to look at my reflection in a broken wine glass. Yellow eyes, my eyes, on the face of a giant black panther look back at me. The people watching retreat until it's only me and the man who did this to me. Stryker. His face is horror stricken and he falls to his knees. His eyes don't leave mine. Then he begins to scream and shake. What's his deal, I'm not that ugly? "Sarah, you-you're dead. No, I'm sorry!" He whimpers. He looks straight into my eye and keeps begging for mercy from my 'risen' mother. I shrug at is insanity and run past him. With some more, less serious, problems, I break the surface, free, as a wild cat should be.
