I walk out of the supermarket exhausted

I walk out of the supermarket exhausted. My shift lasted basically all day today and I am beat. I honestly do not feel like walking home today, but luckily I don't have to since Daniel is picking me up.

It's 6:00 pm and Daniel wanted to make me dinner. He's bringing me to his place for the first time and I'm a little nervous. I shouldn't be though, right? We've been dating for around a month. Wait, are we even dating? We haven't exactly discussed it.

"You ready?" I look up to see Daniel leaning against his car.

Fuck he looks good.

I start walking toward him when someone walks past me, shoulder checking me as he passes. The unexpected action caused me to fall on my ass.

Well that's embarrassing.

I look up to see Daniel coming over to help me up. His eyes scan my body for injuries and he stops when he finds one. A scratch on my hand.

"Oh I'm fine, don't worry about it." I laughed it off, but he obviously wasn't buying into my bullshit.

"Excuse me for a moment, please wait in the car, I'll be quick." He puts his keys in my hand and walks past me to the man who was almost inside.

I start walking to the car but keep my eyes on the exchange. I see them talking for a minute before Daniel leads him to the small alley beside the store. How did he get that guy to follow him?

I open the door and hop inside, keeping my eyes on the alleyway, even though I can't see them anymore.

A few minutes later I see Daniel heading back over to the car, but I don't see the man.

He opens the door and slides into the drivers seat, flashing me a smile.

"Sorry about that, ready to go?" I give him wide eyes, hoping he'll understand that I want him to tell me what happened.

"I just had a talk with him, that's all."

I don't believe that for one second. I don't know what happened in that alley, but I'm not stupid enough to believe they 'just talked.'

I decide not to push the subject though, I already have a good idea of what happened. Obviously Daniel threatened him, maybe even hit him.

I'd rather not know to be honest, the less I know, the better. It is kind of nice to have a guy like me enough to stand up for me like that though, but I should probably talk to him later about it, I don't want him getting into trouble.

I'm used to violence and all that though, so whatever happened back there doesn't really bother me, as long as the guy isn't dead or anything.

A little while later we pull up to his house. It's beautiful and makes my apartment look shabby in comparison.

It's not a huge house, but it's definitely bigger than most. It's very modern and the front yard has a stunning walkway leading up to the door with lights lining it. The outside is a dark gray and it has many windows onlooking the yard.
