"Here." Daniel holds a bag put to me with a smile. I take it hesitantly, considering what happened last time he handed me a bag, and look inside. I reach my hand in and run my thumb along the fabric, it's a dress."Daniel, what the fuck is this?" I look up at him with a dead expression, his smile never falters.
"A dress, my love, for you." He replies, leaning forward to kiss my forehead. A strand of his hair falls in front of his face and I'm tempted to push it back, but I refrain. Luckily, he does it for me, running his hand through his hair, pushing all of it back.
"No shit, what for?" I retort aggressively. He raises his hand and strokes my cheek with the back of his hand, not answering my question."Daniel." I repeat.
"Hm? Oh, for dinner with my brother tonight." His eyes run along my face with adoration. He's not listening. I grab his wrist, pulling his hand off of my face.
"I told you I wasn't going to meet him." He grabs my hand that's wrapped around his wrist with his other hand and brings it up to his lips, kissing my knuckles softly.
"Get ready, please. This really means a lot to me, I want this." He begs. I pull my hand away from him.
"Maybe you've forgotten, but I don't care what you want. I'm not going anywhere, and you can't make me."
He gives me a dark look. "I can, and I will if I have to. Don't make me force you, please just be good and go get ready." I search his eyes for any deceit, but I can't find any.
Shit.

My fear keeps getting the better of me, I keep giving in. I try to stay strong, I really do, but I just can't do it. So, as I walk out of my room, ready for dinner, a tear runs down my cheek.
Daniel is sat on the couch while scrolling on his phone and turns around when he hears my footsteps.
"Ready to go-" He pauses when he sees me crying. "Baby..." he says as he gets up and walks towards me. "Don't cry, it'll be okay." He smiles softly and pushes my hair out of my face.
I shake my head at his words and catch a glimpse of the vase that used to hold his flowers. A question suddenly pops into my head and I can't stop myself from asking.
"Daniel?" I keep my eyes trained on the vase and he hums in response. "The roses you gave me, they had thorns when you gave them to me didn't they?"
There's a small pause before he speaks. "Yes."
He lied to me. I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I still hurts. He made me feel crazy, he made me feel like I was the insane one.
"You broke into my house." I stated.
