"This is going to be a disaster," Jay said head in hand, sitting on his and Nya's shared bed.
"Might be," Nya said from the bathroom.
"Not helping." He heard Nya sigh.
Footsteps came closer before two soft hands grabbed his arms, forcing him to look at her.
"Even if both of them don't like you, nothing can change that I do." She smiled and stood up. "Now let's get ready because they are almost already here."
------------------------
Everyone was around the table waiting for Kai and Nya to bring in their parents for dinner.
Jay was a nervous wreck.
They hadn't told them about their relationship and now they are Yin and Yang, it's going to be a disaster of events.
Just a few seconds later in came Kai and Nya and behind them were their parents.
Everyone stood up and before they could move from their spots Maya spoke up.
"No, no, please, no need to stand up." She said to them with a soft smile on her face.
"Wu," Ray said going over to his old friend, hugging each other.
Well, this is going to be a very awkward dinner for Jay.
-------------------------------
If Jay had to be honest, it wasn't all awkward until the very end, leading up to the climax.
"Mom and Dad, we have something to tell you." Nya glanced at Jay as she stood up, making him also stand up.
Jay took a breath. "We are dating." They said at the same time.
"And he asked me to be his Yang." Nya fished out the medallion from the pocket of her jeans.
Ray and Maya didn't look a bit surprised, just had soft looks on their faces.
"Sweetie, we already knew." Maya looked at Nya who looked back, flabbergasted.
Ray looked at his son who was waving his arms, panicked. "Kai accidentally blurted it out last week." He smiled apologetically at his son.
Jay's eye twitched.
"Kai, you have 3 seconds to run."
"3" The chair creaked as it was pulled along the floor.
"2" Utensils flying to the floor.
"1" Sounds of footsteps.
Jay chased after him like a cheetah after its prey.
---------------------------
"Sorry about him," Jay said to Ray who walked back into the dining room with a lightly bruised cheek. Ray just chuckled.
"No worries, I too would do the same thing." Jay laughed with him.
"I know you were already a part of it, but I would like to formally welcome you to the family." Ray held his hand out for Jay to shake which he did.
"Thank you, father-in-law." Jay jokingly said and raised an eyebrow. 'Too soon?'
"No problem son-in-law," Ray said in the same tone.
They would get along great.
