After the whole date fiasco and a lot of ice cream, I promised myself that I would not let anyone hurt me and stood me up again. I know it's pathetic, but my mind hasn't been working properly because of yesterday, and I needed something that would comfort it.
Now, on Friday afternoon, I was ready to spend it watching Netflix, but Amelia said that the boys had a game in about two hours, and we are supposed to go. I was deciding if I'm going to come and face Brad or if I'm going to stay in my bed. Ah, fuck it, I'm going.
"Okay, okay, I will go," I grunted and made my way to the bathroom.
Apparently, when I was showering, Amelia rummaged through my closet and left some clothes on my bed. Not gonna lie; I was happy that she would do that because I sometimes have a hard time picking which socks I would wear, not the whole outfit. So, after changing into a school hoodie that I didn't have, but now I do, and jeans that make my curves go all the way, I went into her bedroom.
Me: Are you gonna meet us at the stadium, or are you coming to the dorm?
Zoey: I'm already here, Benjamin wanted to meet me real quick, so I'm not coming to the dorm.
Me: Okey dokey.
"Zoey is already at the stadium, so we're going without her and then meeting her there," I told Amelia and Brooklyn when I entered their bedroom.
"Okay, meeting the lover boy, I suppose," Brooklyn smirked.
"What about your loverboy?" I asked her, and I raised my eyebrows.
"Nothing, we are just texting for the last few days; I didn't have time to meet him because of school and assignments." She sadly smiled.
"Oh, it's gonna be okay, I promise, and after tonight, you will definitely meet him more," Amelia told her with a soft smile on her face.
I was ready, the girls were prepared, and we locked our doors behind us and made our way to the stadium. I could hear the chanting when we were near the stadium. We sat in the seats that Sawyer picked for us so that we would have a top view of the field, and we waited for the game to start.
"Hey, girls." Zoey greeted us when she took a seat.
"Hey, how was your date?" I greeted her back.
"It was not a date, but he wanted a good luck kiss, so I scored that one." She said, blushing.
"Haha, I told you, it was her lover boy." Brooklyn high-fived Amelia, and I laughed.
The game was about to start, and I sat nervously in my seat. I have never been to a game. So basically, everything in college was the first experience for me. Amelia squeezed my hand, and then her eyes landed on our team. They came jogging to the field without helmets on their heads, so I had an excellent view of their faces.
"There's Sawyer." Amelia yells and smiles.
"I can see him; no need to shout." I laughed at her and then saw the blush on her cheeks. Haha.
I saw Brad but didn't look at him that much because it still stings that he stood me up, and I focused my eyes on someone that was now waving at me. What? Oh, it's Hudson, and he's smiling. I waved back, giving him thumbs up and a smile.
He mentioned to me to go down to the side of the field. I excused myself and started to make my way toward him.
"Hey." He said to me when I was finally down.
"Hey to you too." I smiled at him. "Good luck today; I hope we will be celebrating the win," I told him.
"We sure will; I hope you and the girls come to the party after the game." He told me quietly.
"You guys are that sure that you're going to win?" I asked him with an amused expression.
"Well, the party is held anyway, so if we win, we win, and if we lose, we can drown our sorrows in alcohol." He laughed.
"Okay, okay, we can stop by," I said, and after that, he leaned closer to me. My breath hitched in my mouth, and when I inhaled again, I could smell his cologne.
"Do you think you can give me a good luck kiss?" He smirked.
"Well, if you're asking so nicely." I smiled and pecked his cheek. I definitely saw a blush on his face.
"Thanks." He softly told me, looking into my eyes.
"Now go! And win!" I told him, making my way back to my seat. He mouthed "for you," and at first, I thought that it was not for me, but then he winked.
You see, the problem is I don't even know if we are friends or just acquaintances because we didn't speak that much. I was confused, but at the same I was happy.
"Girly! What was that all about?" Amelia asked me with a mischievous smile on her face.
"I don't fucking know myself. He invited us to the party and then asked me if I give him a good luck kiss. I can tell you that he has some effect on me, I didn't even think about the kiss, so I gave it to him." I told her.
"Someone is in love." Brooklyn sang. Love? No.
"As if." How can I be in love when I don't even know him?
Then the game started; it was a close call; for some time, we were losing, but then the quarterback, with the name Brooks on their back, made a winning move, and the whole stadium went crazy. I was happy, clapping and chanting with the girls, and when we could go to the field, we wasted no time.
Amelia ran to Sawyer, who picked her up and kissed her cheeks. Aham, so no relationship, no nothing. Liar.
I was standing in the middle of the field looking for someone that I knew when two hands covered my eyes.
"Guess who?" The person asked, but I knew who it was.
"Hudson," I said confidently.
"Ah, man, I was hoping you would need like three guesses." He told me when I turned around.
"Oh my god! Congratulations." I smiled at him widely and hugged him. He was startled at first, but then he hugged me back, lifting me from the ground.
"You look beautiful tonight." He told me when he put me down.
"Thanks." I blushed. We were looking into each other eyes, nothing more, and I was captivated.
"Aham." Someone cleared their throat. The moment was too good to be true, so ending it was not on my agenda, but Hudson looked up, and his facial expression completely changed. I turned around and saw Brad.
"Can we talk?" He asked me. I said sorry to Hudson, and he told me it was okay, pecked my cheek, which was unusual, and made me red as a tomato, and made his way to his other teammates.
"What do you want?" I stood my ground. I can be sweet and kindhearted, but he did hurt me.
"I'm so sorry for yesterday, I have a family emergency, and I couldn't go back to the campus." He apologized, but there was something in his eyes that told me he was lying.
"Okay, but you could have texted me." I was not giving up.
"I know, I know, I am terribly sorry for it." He told me once more with his eyes full of apologies and the other thing that I couldn't decipher.
"Okay, I take the apologies, but I don't think we can see each other from now on," I told him, being completely honest with myself and with him.
"Why?" He asked, surprised.
"Because you hurt me, and even though you apologized, I still don't think we can see each other because you had a chance to text me. All day today. And you didn't. And I want honesty in relationships." There, I said it. But by the look on his face, I think he didn't take it well.
"So because of this stupid relationship shit, we can see each other, right?" I think he's angry.
"Yeah, I'm gonna go." I started to walk away, but he grabbed my hand.
"Don't think this is over." He growled and let go of my hand. Well, now I am in drama. And I do not do well with drama.
Was his reaction weird?
Definitely.
So what now?
