Born a Fighter

Chapter 1

As I walk down the street, I feel a cool breeze blowing through my hair. It feels nice to finally be outside after all those weeks of being stuck in my room stressing over school. Only three more weeks and school is out! My 16th birthday is in 4 weeks, I'm also going to be shifting into my wolf in 4 weeks. Yup, I'm a werewolf.

Most people shift at 18 but since I'm an Alpha's daughter I shift earlier then most.

"Jules! Where have you been? Mom and Dad have been calling you for the past hour now!" yelled my sister as she ran towards me.

"I told them I was going for a walk. Why are they worried?" I replied.

"Julie, you have been on your 'little walk' for 3 hours!"

"Has it been that long? Oops, sorry Tish, won't happen again." I can't believe I've been walking for 3 hours! It felt like 3 minutes.

Well i guess I'm grounded for another week. Ya see, since I am an Alphas daughter, other wolves try and harm me, or "mate" with me. Mating is when a male wolve claims a female wolf, by first marking them and then, "doing-it". Every male wolf wants a shot at being an Alpha, so i have to be protected at all times. I'm lucky they even let me out tonight. Anyways, back to the mating thing. Every wolf has a mate, or soulmate, someone who is made for you, someone who will love you no matter the circumstances, someone you can trust with your life. Males can claim any other wolf if they want too, but they won't be aloud to be with their true mate unless the true mate were to kill the fake mate..

My father is Alpha of the Blood Shed Pack, not a very friendly name, i know, thats because we can be very unfriendly when we want to be. We are the biggest pack in the US, and we plan on remaining the biggest. I am not looking forward to taking the position, i do not think i can handle all that stress. Lucky thing women can't take the position of Alpha until they find their mate. When i find my mate, my father will pass down the title to me, if he thinks my mate is worthy enough to have it. But I'm pretty sure that day is far from near.

You my might be wondering why my sister gets to go out, well that's because she is younger. She does not have the alpha title unless something were to happen to me. Plus she has been training with the boys since she was little so she knows how to defend herself. No one would want to even mess with her, she is crazy! We are complete opposites. I'm more shy, bookworm, perfectionist type of gal while she is the loud, outgoing, laid-back type of gal. We are very close since we are around the same age.

As I walk inside the house I hear my dad yelling, that's never a good thing.

"Julie! Are you crazy?! Do you know how worried we were when you didn't answer your phone?" my dad said furiously.

"I'm sorry dad, my phone was on silent and I lost track of time, it won't happen again I promise!" I cried.

"You bet it won't happen again because you are never leaving this house again! Not until you find your mate at least." he can't do that to me! I'll go insane if I stay in the four walls of my room.

"How am I going to find my mate if I never go out?" I tried to reason with him.

"Then I guess you'll stay locked up and mate less forever!!" he has lost it, completely. I cannot believe he is locking me inside the house, I will lose my mind along with his.

"I'm going to my room!" I yelled back.

I ran upstairs into my bedroom and locked the door. I cried all night long, I couldn't sleep after what my father just told me. When I woke up it was around 8 am. I went into the bathroom, did my thing then got dressed. When I walked downstairs, my mom and dad were sitting chatting and smiling at each other like nothing happened last night.

"Morning" I greeted them.

"Morning sweety" my mother said

"Morning baby doll" said my father. Okay is it me or is this really weird? Why is he acting so normal when yesterday he was totally insane.

"Better hurry up Jules, don't want to be late for school" my mom said.

"I called Nick he is waiting for you outside" my dad said.

Nick is my "bodyguard". My dad does not think I will be safe at school so he hired the beta's son, Nick to watch over me.

"Okay, where is Tisha?" my sister is usually up and making breakfast at this time.

"She left for training". My dad replied. I guess she is skipping school again, lucky.

I grabbed an apple, said bye to my parents and met up with Nick outside.

"Hey Nick" I greeted

"Hey Jules" he replied.

The drive to school was pretty silent. It wasn't awkward silence though. It was comfortable.

School was pretty boring. Tish came in the middle of lunch, and met up with me and Nick. She had plenty of other friends but she chose to hang out with us, like I said, we are pretty close.

When we got home, everyone was outside, everyone meaning the pack. Apparently there was a meeting we weren't aware of.
