Born a Fighter

Chapter 8

Julie POV

I could not take it anymore. It has been three hours since James has been gone. I'm going out looking for him. I got up from my seat and went outside. I decided to shift into my wolf and go searching. I was on four paws in seconds, I started running towards the direction of his scent.

I felt something off. I noticed a different scent, it wasn't something i was familiar with. It is probably just the new senses thing. Oh well. I heard a growl. It was James. I ran towards the growl. What I saw caused me to whimper in pain for my mate. Rogues were on top of him. I immediately reacted and pounced. Mind you i have no experience fighting, but when your mate is in trouble you do anything you can. 

One rogue i did not see jumped on top of me and bit down on my leg, hard. I whined in pain. I felt something try to get in my head, and realised it was James trying to talk to me through our mind link. i let him in immediately

Julie! Are you okay? Call somebody for help and stay behind me 

He said to me. I heard his growl and turned to him. He ran to the wolf that bit me and snapped its neck instantly. I ran behind him, knowing he would do anything to protect me, vice versa. 

Help! Me and James are under attack by the clearing in the forest!! 

I practically yelled at my parents and everyone else in the pack. All of a sudden i heard a mass of voices in my head, to say i was a little overwhelmed was an understatement. 

Do not worry we are already on our way

My father said, after all the other voices died down. 

They are on their way

I told James, he gave me a slight nod telling me he understood. I heard loud growls coming from both sides of where we were standing. Wow they got here fast. In the front, my dad growling. I could see Nick and James' father, Wesley as well. Including our Beta. But that was only from one side. I turned to my left and saw a massive army of rogues. Okay there is like 20 but that's a lot compared to our 5 wolves. I should not worry though because we didn't get our name from throwing tea parties I'll tell you that. All the men jumped on one of the rogues, including James. I tried to help but everybody kept telling me to stand back, because it is to dangerous. I didn't notice the sound of the brushes moving until it was too late. The others were so busy fighting off the rogues they did not notice the two wolves coming for me as we speak. They dragged me back into the forest. 

Julie! Where are you? Where did you go?! 

James said in my head. Obviously freaking out over my absence, which he should! By the time i had a chance to reply the rogues shifted and put silver around my neck. It started to burn and i realised i would not be able to communicate with anybody until the silver comes off. These two rogues seemed very distracted by something, so i did what any sane person, or wolf in this case, would do. I ran. Straight out of their sight. I tried to wiggle the silver off my throat but it was just not  coming off. The rogues were chasing me, so i ran towards where i last saw James. I could not smell anything either because of this horrible thing around my neck. 

More rogues started to chase me. To say i was frightened was a HUGE understatement. All i wanted to do was be wrapped in James' arms, where i will be safe and warm. I saw Henry and thanked the lord. I howled really loud and he snapped his head towards me. Once he saw me being chased he paused, probably telling James where we are, then bolted for the rogues. I ran behind him and then i heard the most glorious sound ever. James came running and growled so loud. It was a sound of authority, it was filled with the desire to protect and the need to kill who ever caused this. His adrenaline was pumping so it wasn't hard for him to kill the 6 rogues with his fathers help, after all they were both Alpha's. As soon as the last one was killed, James came to me and nuzzled my neck as a sign of affection. I did the same to him. He gripped the silver with his teeth and broke it without any sign of pain.
