Chapter 2.5

Location: Swan Residence—>Forks Outfitters
POV: Isabella Philips(Bella Swan)

After Jacob finished giving me instructions on how to drive the truck, I decide to ask Charlie if I could cook for the night to which he agrees. There wasn't much of anything but bread, meat, cheese, jelly, peanut butter, et cetera, so I decided we could all go shopping together.

We all cram into Charlie's cruiser and head to the grocery store. When we reach there I see the name of the grocery store if 'Forks Outfitters', which is like a plaza full of stores.

"Not the biggest is it", I hear someone say breaking me out my trance. "No, not really but it's hopefully got what we need", I say to Jacob in a joking tone.

"So are you finally going to spill about what you're making", Charlo says as we are getting out of the cruiser. "Nope, it's a surprise", I say popping the P. I help Jacob get Billy back in his wheelchair and I offer to push him to which he declines.

"There's no need I got Jacob, plus you're about to cook for us", Billy says to me as Jacob starts pushing him to the store with Charlie on the side of him talking.

As soon as we get inside the fans blow on us and I get the smell that all grocery stores seem to have immediately.

"Ok, so, we need the following things", I start before listing the things I need to make my favorite food, "... three small cans of spicy diced tomatoes, one big pack of ground beef, Velveeta block cheese or any that we see, one big bag of normal tortilla chips and one big bag of spicy tortilla chips, complete seasoning, seasoning salt, and more seasoning that I can't think of right now", I finish saying looking at them.

"Alright, well let's start with the ground beef since it's right over there and continue from there", Jacob says with a big grin on his face before rolling Billy towards the meat section.

We get all of the ingredients and head to the register. Everything is unsurprisingly cheap here.

Once we reach back home I immediately starts seasoning the meat and cooking the ground beef. Jacob wanted to help so, after much consideration, I let him cut the cheese into blocks so they melt better. Once the meat is near done I start melting the cheese in a separate pot, which I am surprised Charlie even owns pots in this home, and once the cheese is melted I pour the diced tomatoes in the cheese and let it cook a little.

Once the meat is done I grab one of the aluminum pans we bought and pour the meat in it, after draining it, and then pour the cheese and tomatoes over top and mixed it. While I am doing this Jacob starts to wash the pots that were used, which I thanked him for cause my arms were aching from mixing that meat, especially with these scrawny arms.

After I finish mixing the stuff it's already done but I like to put it in the oven for 5-7 mins on 360 just so it cooks together. Once that is done I take the heavy aluminum pan out of the oven and set it on the counter and yell for the Charlie and Billy to tell them that the food is done.

" Bella, this smells amazing. What is it", Charlie asks to which both Billy and Jacob seem to want an answer to causing me to chuckle. " It's called Rotel Dip and you use chips to eat it", I say before opening the spicy bag of tortilla chips and demonstrating. ".. like you would any dip", I finish saying as I chew on my food.

We all fix our plates, grab a drink, and head to the living room. "Bells this is amazing. Where did you learn how to cook like this"; Charlie says which causes me to tense but I come up with a lie. "Self taught. I was just experimenting and boom, this", I say dramatically. It's not like I could tell him about my mama and granny from another lifetime who taught me most of her cooking skills.

"Emily would love you", Billy says which causes me to choke on my food at the mention of one of my favorite characters who didn't make an appearance 'til two movies later.

"Who's Emily" , I ask after drinking some of my root beer to get the food down. " She's Harry Clearwater's niece, you probably don't remember, but she's apart of the Makah Tribe, she grew up on the Makah reservation so you probably don't remember much of her but she is an amazing cook and baker", Billy says causing me to nod in understanding at this new information about her tribe, well not new since I know what Twilight Saga Wiki is.

We finish up eating as the fantastic four goes off and we clean up. I fix a lot of plates for Billy and Jacob to take to the reservation for some of their closer family and friends since there was a lot left over and a container for Charlie so he has lunch for tomorrow.

I say goodbye to Billy and Jacob before heading upstairs and taking a shower. After I finish getting ready for bed I tell Charlie goodnight and head to sleep knowing I gotta go to school tomorrow.
