Jinsu’s POV:
Minjae has been teaching me archery since I wanted to learn about the sport before my so-called father created the virus. I will never forgive him for what he did that day, but I don’t forgive myself for not trying to stop him. Everyone has told me to not blame myself for what has happened, but I can’t help myself and do it anyways.
“Jinsu, are you ok?” I was pulled out of my thoughts when Minjae asked me a question. I looked at Minjae who had a concerned look on his face. Now that made me even more guilty knowing he is worried about me.
“I am fine Minjae. Please, go ahead and continue your lesson.” I told him, and I could tell he wasn’t buying it. He put his hand on my shoulder and asked me,
“Jinsu, are you sure you’re ok?” And that is when I started sobbing. Minjae immediately pulls me into a hug, trying his best to calm me down. He kissed my forehead while one of his hands was rubbing my back.
“Shh, I got you Jinsu.” Minjae whispered to me, which is slowly helping me.
“I wish he was a better father.” I randomly whispered to Minjae, who was shocked from what I whispered.
“Jinsu, are you still blaming yourself for something your father did?” Minjae asked me. I nod my head since I don’t trust myself speaking right now.
“Baby, we talked about this. Never blame yourself for something he did.” Minjae told me, which made me even more guilty since I keep blaming myself.
“I’m sorry, if he would have been by my side instead of making the stupid virus, none of this would had happened.” I started to sob again, knowing he wasn’t by my side when I told him I was getting bullied. I felt Minjae swaying us back and forth. This went on for a couple of minutes until Minjae broke the hug.
“Let’s go back to our room and rest ok.” Minjae suggested as he wiped the tears away from my face.
“Ok.” I said as my voice cracked. He held my hand and we were heading towards our bedroom in the quarantine camp.
—
Minjae and I are now laying down on our bed cuddling. He kissed my forehead here and there, making me feel better.
“Jinsu, your so-called father is the real monster, not you. You are loved and I’ll make sure you remember that. Ok.” Minjae informed me and I couldn’t help but smile.
“I believe you Minjae. Thank you for being by my side.” I told him and now it is his turn to smile. I yawned and I heard him giggled. We closed our eyes and fell asleep, entering dreamland.
I forgot to mention this, but I am glad he finally got rid of that ugly bowl cut.
