(Y/n pov)

"Ain't this cozy." Dwight jokes as he reaches the bottom of the ladder. I strap my crossbow to my back and follow after him, landing in the sludgy and muddy waters of the sewer.

I move forwards to let Rosita get down from the lander and she groans as she lands in the water. She then proceeds to walk down the tunnel and I look confused.

"Where's Michonne?" I ask as I follow Rosita. She doesn't look back as she talks.

"Rick radioed her. He's back in Alexandria she's just guiding him." I nod but it's pointless as I'm behind everyone so no one would see.

We continue down the sewer tunnel until we see faint lights in the distance and when we reach them I see the residents of Alexandria including Tobin all spaced out on the walls.

Some were sitting down others were watching the other tunnels. I soon reach the end of the tunnel where I see Carl, as pale as a ghost and with eyes like he hasn't slept in weeks.

I go to his side and look at him confused. I had only seen him no more than an hour ago how did he get this way?

As if he had read my mind, Carl lifts his shirt and removes a bandage to reveal a bite mark.

A walker's bite mark.

"What are we gonna do about this?" Rosita whispers to Tara.

I continue to watch Carl from afar while holding Judith who started crying during the explosions. Before anything else could happen, I saw Rick and Michonne walking from where we first came in, a blank look on his face.

Carl looks at them with tired eyes and immediately pulls up his shirt once more. I can see the despair in Rick's eyes as he sees the bite wound on as muffled sounds of explosions go off above us.

"I-I don't-"

"Dad. It's alright. It's gotta be. I wasn't sure if you'd make it back before... but just in case." Carl pulls out a stack of letters from his back pocket and rests them on his thigh. "I wanted to make sure I was able to say goodbye."

Rick shakes his head and lowers his eyes. "No. It's them. It's them. They... They don't... It wasn't... No."

"Dad. I got bit. I was bringing someone back. His name is Siddiq. We saw him at that gas station before... It wasn't the Saviours. It just happened. "

I see Rick lean down on his knees in disbelief. Carl then groans as he falls from his sat-up position and Michonne gently lays his head on a pillow that was nearby. "Is that better?"

"Yeah. Thanks." Carl sounded even weaker now if that were even possible.

"I, um, got these." I see a man, dark in skin color, walk towards Rick holding a small orange bottle of pills. "They'll help with the fever, anti-inflammatory, medicine tablets. They worked for my Mom and Dad. Please take them. He deserves them"

The man's voice breaks as Rick takes the bottle from him. "You're a doctor?"

"I was a resident before. Yeah." Rick doesn't look at him as he asks him another question.

"Your name is Siddiq?"

"Yes." The man I now know as Siddiq responds. Rick shakes his head and turns back to Carl.

"You knew he was a doctor? Is that why you brought him back?"

"He wasn't gonna make it alone. He needed us. That's why." Carl says quietly and Rick lifts his head. Suddenly another explosion goes off and some small rubble falls on Carl but Rick puts his body over him to stop it.
