Beep..beep..beep...
Bani's phone vibrated at the shore near her, in the now young morning rays which had already spread its glow around the place. But bani still laid in the dream world of hers, in the deathly embrace of the whiskey while her phone beeped again flashing 'Veer'. It rang and once again dissolved to termination as it failed miserably in pulling bani out of last night's heavy bang.
The process continued till yet another 1 hour as it flew to death. Finally, bani was ready to snap out to the earth as she rubbed her eyes and tried opening her eyes at 10:25 am in the morning. She was welcomed with another call as the phone beeped once again. Bani frowned with a yawn and looked at her phone being fully irritated.
"Who is it in the early morning ? Veer....take it , please..na" Bani mumbled as she again dropped onto the sand with her unfinished sleep.
The phone continued its beeping and bani groaned . "Veer ..." she again sat back which caused the reality to flow in, through her spines and she froze at her place. The fact that she was not with veer and was at the shore made her sigh and her fingers slowly made its way to the phone once it stopped beeping. The screen showed 10:30 am now and bani chuckled mockingly at herself.
"Wow bani ! What a perfect early morning time to wake yourself up !" She shook her head at herself and opened her lockscreen and stared at the home screen which showed 63 missed calls from veer.
"Holy shit ! What ! Is he serious ,63 missed calls ? What was that for ? Wait .. Is he fine ?" Bani's mind raced forward and she immediately called back veer who took it in the first ring itself.
"Hello, bani ? Are you fine ? Where were you ? Why didn't You take the call ? Did something happen? Should I come ? Please say something sweetheart !" Veer bombarded with questions and statements as soon as the call was connected and bani struggled to hold back her urge to cry hearing the man who was still worried for her the whole night and morning while she was just sleeping like a log after dumping down a bottle of whiskey.
"Veer !" Bani slowly called and veer haulted his interrogation as he heard the voice his soul longed for after 1 whole day. He now knew what had happened , her voice was still a little slurry and he sighed. She drank again. Who must he be kidding , how did he even expect bani to stop drinking all of a sudden with a little distance from himself ?
"You know what bani ! Just.. cut it off !" Veer said as he threw the phone against the cabin wall angrily with building pain. Did she not miss him ; even not for a second? Did he not matter ?! All she wanted in her life was alcohol? Nothing else ? His heart screamed and veer threw the files kept on his table in fury.
He slowly stepped forward the next second and took the sim card from the now destroyed phone and then took a new phone from the pile of new ones on the desk and inserted it in. No way he could miss Bani's call , if she calls him for some emergency!
