The Only Way

A 17 year old Kayleigh couldn't help but think her 13 year old sister Hope was stupid. Yes, Kayleigh done many stupid things in her life. Did she get drunk and start a forest fire? Yes. Did she get stoned and rob a car to go McDonalds? Yes, she did. Did she set a girls hair on fire for bullying her little sister? Of course she damn did. But never in her life she would create a Hybrid with a boy from the wolf club who had to take suicide to a whole new level.

So here she was, just entering their family home with Hope and Hayleigh deciding to take a week off due to her great grades, she doesn't know why she is still at the school, she's passed everything. Well she does, its so Mr Saltzman can keep an eye on her, not trusting the spawns of Klaus Mikaelson they great evil. She rolls her eyes of the though of her head master. Deciding to leave the mother daughter duo to their argument she mutters a Goodnight to the pair before calling it an early night.

The next day Kayleigh decided that she will go out to the quarter to buy some more supplies. She looks for Hayleigh to let her know but couldn't find her anywhere, shrugging her shoulders thinking she has left for some Alpha duties deciding to get on with her day.

Returning later evening, scrolling through her phone as she entered not looking up until she knocked into a hard chest making her look up. As soon as she saw who it was her phone fell out her hand and smashed. Her dad standing right in front of her, holding her shoulder to prevent her from dropping on the floor. Her mouth opened in shock, her eyes watering not knowing if it was due to anger or happiness.

Klaus was about to leave when he bumped into his eldest and as soon as he looked at her, his body filled with so much regret. His little wolf has grown so much, now into a young woman looking so much like him and her mother. Before he can even open his mouth she starts hitting his chest, her shopping long forgotten.

"I Hate you, you left me, you left me alone, when you promised you wouldn't" She cried as she kept hitting his chest, and he let her, she kept repeating "I hate you" Until her hits became weaker, her voice turning into sobs and then he brought into his arms cradling her, as her legs gave out as she tried to push him away he lowed them both to the ground as she kept sobbing. He shushed her softly, stroking her hair repeating 'I'm sorry' constantly until her sobs became slight hiccups.

Her anger turned to sadness and she gripped onto his jacket sobbing quietly "Please don't leave me, please don't leave me again daddy" She begged. Klaus took in a sharp breath, he saw his youngest not long ago, but he never realised how much pain he caused his eldest, and right then, he regretted leaving her, he thought she would be better off with Hayleigh and Freya, he saw the messages of how rebellious she had became and how many times she has been expelled, he never realised how much pain he caused her.

Freya who was watching the scene, cried silently to her self. She knew how much Kayleigh was suffering being away from her dad. Hope was different, she was so young she only has little memories of him, by Kayleigh was different, she was raised by her mother who constantly told her about him, taken in by him for two years, then saw him again when she was 11. Hope was just a baby when he first had to leave, and she still had her mom. Kayleigh tried to be strong for Hope and the family tried to be there for Kayleigh but she needed her dad, everyone knew this, they had a strong bond from the moment they met Rebekah told her.

Kayleigh's cries stopped, her heart beat calmed so Klaus looked down and saw that she cried her self to sleep. He looked towards Freya who gave him a nod, so he picked her up and took her with him, knowing now how much his little wolf really did need him.

Kayleigh never really spoke much the next few days which worried the family greatly. She just observed and helped where she could, Hayleigh was missing and after a while they found out that it was Hope's fault, wanting her family back together not realising the true danger of it all, but she couldn't be mad at her little sister, she understood why.
