Christian Pov
Oh my God, fucking Jose. I yell, "Taylor!" He comes into the room.
I panicked and said, "Anastasia had Jose in her apartment's garage. I have her on speaker phone. She's driving here now!"
She said through the speaker, "Christian, he's in his green pickup truck five cars back. He must have been parked in the alley behind the apartment's parking garage. Call the SPD for me?" She sounds scared but in control. Taylor is on the phone with the cops. He is telling them that their fugitive they mistakenly set free yesterday is following his victims again in traffic and in violation of the restraining order, again.
Anastasia says, "Christian, tell the cops I can lead him to them somewhere like a park or a parking lot. He's in a rusted out green 1996 GMC Sierra 3500." Smart woman. I tell Taylor.
Taylor tells the cops the make and model. He says into my phone, "Ms Steele. Ana, the police said there are three police cars at the corner of 6th Avenue and Virginia Street. There is a Chase Bank there. Pull into the lot and park there but don't turn off your engine."
She sounds so small. She said, "Ok. Turning on Virginia northbound from 4th Avenue." Jesus, she was just driving by Escala outside.
Taylor is telling the cops where she is. Anastasia says, "I'm at the light at 5th Avenue." I'm a nervous wreck.
A minute later, she says, "I'm taking a right on 6th Avenue and making a left into the parking lot of Chase Bank. I'm parking like I'm going to the ATM. He turned in! He's here! He's here!" Taylor tells them that he's there now. My fear for her escalated and my heart is beating like crazy.
I yell, "Don't get out of the car, Baby? Stay inside and lock the doors!"
She yells, "He is out of the truck! He's banging on my window." I hear glass shattering and scuffling. She screams, "I hope you die, Jose!!!! Let go of me!!!!"
Jose screams, "I'm going to kill you!!! You fucking, bitch!!!" More thumping, screaming, scuffling and yelling and a loud gunshot rang out. BANG! A male screamed. Then, BANG! Another scream. My Ana. Silence. Too quiet.
I panicked and screamed, "Ana! Ana! Oh my God! Is she dead! Taylor! Is she ok! Is she ok!" I hear shouting and wailing from a male voice on her phone.
Someone says gently, "It'll be ok, Miss. Calm down. The ambulance is coming. I'm going to apply direct pressure to stop the bleeding. We are going to pull you out of the car and lay you down on the asphalt. It'll be ok." I hear a loud groan and a buckle snapping and shuffling.
Anastasia whispers, "Tell, Christian Grey, I love him and I'm sorry. Give him my car and everything I……" She's dying…No… no, no, no…. I'm dying inside.
The man yells, "Get the EMT over here now!!!!! Screw him, she's worse!!!!" My Anastasia, my Ana….. the phone disconnected. I start running through the apartment.
"TAYLOR, GET ME TO HER NOW!!!!" I'm running to the elevator and banging on the button. Taylor's with me. "Call my mother! Tell her Anastasia has been shot! What hospital are they taking her to?!!" I'm tearing my hair out.
Taylor says, "Seattle Grace Hospital" Taylor calls my mother as we go down to the garage. I bolt out the door to the SUV. Taylor remotely unlocked it and I jumped in and buckled up. Taylor does the same. He says, "Your mother is already there waiting for the ambulance to arrive in the ER."
Taylor flew through 12-15 blocks to get to the hospital in record time. I jumped out of the SUV and dashed into the ER. He went to park the SUV. I ran up to the reception desk and yelled, "I want to know if Anastasia Steele, a gunshot victim, has arrived!" I see my mother coming up to me in my peripheral vision. I turn and run to her and grab her in a hug. "Mom, please find out and go help her. I heard her dying on the phone." I was crying and let her go. She had tears in her eyes.
