"Ladies and gentlemen, Team USA Hockey."
Mr Tibbles announced as Ryleigh shuffled her way towards facing the audience of reporters before her.
"And the man chosen to lead them to the gold, Gordon Bombay."
The applause sounded as a large polar bear, who was the mascot of Mr Tibbles's company, came running in to take a picture with the team. Soon enough, the questions from the reporters came flooding in. One asked, "Team USA, how does it feel competing on an international level, here in Los Angeles?", to which everybody responded with positive remarks.
The next question rolled in with the reporter standing up and saying, "Coach Bombay, the Vikings from Iceland are the heavy favourite. Their coach has already guaranteed victory. How are you gonna handle them?"
As the team and the sea of reporters looked at their coach for an answer, he promptly replied with how he planned on winning with hard work and effort, earning nods from the reporters and smiles from the group of kids surrounding him.
"Team USA's going down. That's where you're going. See you on the ice, Bombay!" a loud obnoxious voice bragged. Ryleigh mumbled to no one in particular about how that man with the greasy, gelled hair was the ruthless ex-pro hockey player, Wolf Stansson - who she recognized as "The Dentist". She began to walk away with Lester and Jesse as Ken gave her a frightened look, overhearing what she said about the Iceland coach.
"I can't believe he's here, never mind the fact that he's actually allowed to coach! I mean, why would anyone accept a guy only known for the crap he caused on the ice?!" Les ranted to the two people on either side of him. Lee shrugged as Jesse agreed, saying, "How did he even get accepted into a kid's hockey competition? He's probably teaching his players to break our skulls legally by finding a way around the rules."
"I wouldn't let your skull get broken by one of them," Lee piped up quickly backing it up with, "same goes for the rest of the team."
Jesse gave her a shy smile and a gentle scoff while Lester snickered and thanked her for her "service" and went back to search for Dwayne and Luis, leaving the other two walking towards the outside of the Goodwill Games arena.
