*Later that day*

I got ready to go home and Dan was waiting at my door so he could take me home.

I grabbed my jacket headed out, closing the door behind me.

"Who's closing up?" I asked.

"Arin and Suzy, as per usual."

"Oh, what do you think they're doing?" I asked, innocently and curiously.

Dan looked at me, and my innocent face.

"Streaming? I don't know and I don't want to know." He said as we walked to his car.

I nodded "Understandable."

When we got to his car he unlocked it and asked "Do you want me to open your door?"

My heart melted. "No thanks, if my arms were broken, yes, but since I am perfectly fine, I'll open it."

"Yeah but, it's a chivalrous thing... are you sure?"

"Open the door Dan." I said.

He smiled and came to open my door.

He opened the door and motioned for me to sit down.

"Thank you." I said as I kissed his cheek before I sat down.

When I sat down, he closed the door and went to the other side.

He got into the car and he put the key in the ignition.

He started driving.

"Hey, are you at work?"

She sent that 2 hours ago so I decided to text back.

"Well, I was, I'm heading home
right now, why?"

Dan must've seen my phone open so he asked "What are you doing?"

"Texting a friend." I said as the bubbles popped up.

She's texting back.

"Which one, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Kayla." I said as a message popped up.

"Can we hang out? I feel kinda lonely."

My eyes flickered to Dan, who looked happy that we were going on a date.

I looked back at my phone and I sent back;

"Um, I'm kinda busy right now, but
we can totally hang out later."

"That's a beautiful name, I like it." He said as it looked at him.

I nodded, "Yeah, she's great, I consider her as a best friend."

"Who is your best friend?"

"Suzy." I answered immediately, text bubbles appearing and disappearing.

Finally, a question popped up.

"What are you doing?"

I absentmindedly let out an anxious sigh, and Dan looked at me.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah." I absentmindedly said as I texted back;

"I'm going on a date."

"You sure?" He asked.

"Yes, I'm fine." I said as she typed back.

"Have so much fun! Get laid! Use protection!"

I smiled and giggled as I typed back;

"Thank you, I will. Not the getting laid part,
this is our first date, you know how I am."

I felt the car turn, and I looked out the window, and I made a confused look.

How am I home already?

Dan must've seen my confused look, because he said, "I took a short-cut."

"What?! No way, I don't believe you, that was like ten minutes!" I exclaimed, a little too loudly.

"Too loud." He said nicely, letting me know.

"Sorry." I said, covering my mouth.

"It's okay, I understand." He said as my phone dinged.

"Yeah, I know, I was kidding."

I smiled at my phone.

He parked his car and then looked at me.

"Um, I know this might sound weird but, can I come in and meet your dogs?" There was a nervous undertone in his voice.

I turned off my phone and smiled at him.

"Of course."

He smiled and excitedly got out of the car, slamming his door shut, quickly coming to my side to open my door.
