Suzy quickly covered my mouth, "What part about it made you feel that way?"

"Actually, none of it, I just wanted to make Arin laugh."

Suzy giggled a bit.

"Okay, then."

*5 months later* (You and Dan have been dating for 3 months)

Y/ns' pov

I was in my office, working on editing a video when Arin poked his head in, and flickered the lights, so I took out my airpod.

"Sup?" I asked.

"You've been working for a while now, are you okay?"

"Yeah, just extremely focused."

"Take a 5-minute break."

"No way." I said, putting my airpod in and started working again so I could get the video done.

A couple of minutes went by and I saw my favorite curly head of hair.

I took my airpod out again.

"What now?" I asked, a smile now on my face.

"I got you a present." Dan said, sitting down in the empty chair that's next to me.

"Aww, thanks." I said, taking both of my airpods out and putting them in the case.

"What's in it?" I asked and he gave me a box.

"Open it, and you'll see."

I looked at it, noticing how similar the box looks to jewelry boxes.

"If it's metallic jewelry, I can't have it, you know I'm allergic to some metals."

"That's the best part, there's no metal on this one."

"So it is jewelry?" I raised my eyebrow and smiled as he fell into my trap.

"Yes, just open it."

I opened it and I was met with a braided bracelet that was made out of purple rope.

I looked at Dan.

"I like you so much." I said, feeling too awkward to say "love" at work.

I closed the box.

He smiled, knowing why I didn't say it.

"If Arin and Suzy can say "love" to each other, then we can too."

"That's different." I said opening the box again.

"How is it different?" He asked.

"They're married, and she's the manager." I said, taking it out of the box.

He gently grabbed it from me, "Hey, you know this isn't the ordinary workplace." He said as he put the bracelet on my wrist for me.

"We don't even have a human resources person." He said.

"Explains why I have so much more fun here than anywhere else." I said, my face getting close to his.

Dan chuckled.

"Oh, by the way, in a month I'll be going on tour with my band."

I smiled at him.

"So you'll be away?"

He nodded.

"For how long?" I asked.

"About 3 months." He said, pushing his hair out of the way of his eyes.

I put my hand over my heart, as I jokingly said, "Thank god."

He chuckled as he covered my mouth, "No, we don't say things like that."

I took his hand off of my mouth, "I can say whatever I want, the only things that matter is if I actually hurt your feelings."

"You didn't, but still, you shouldn't be rude."

"Says who?" I asked him.

"Says me, your boyfriend." He said as he stood up.

"You'll be a boy-fiend in a minute." I jokingly threatened as I pointed at him.

He smiled as he leaned over in front of my face.

I rolled my eyes and kissed him.

"Now go away, I want to get this video done." I said, putting my airpod back in, and he immediately took it back out.

"But seriously, would you survive with rarely talking to me on the phone for those three months?"

"I'm dating a singer," I looked at him, "I'd be crazy to expect anything more when you're touring." I smiled wide at him.

He smiled and then left.

Dans' pov

"Okay, she's working again."

"That wasn't long enough." Arin said.

"Is she okay?" Suzy asked.

"Yeah, she's fine, she just wants to get her work done." I said.

"I don't think so." Suzy said.

"Look in there at her, but don't establish your presence."

I poke my head in the door again, and sure enough, she's got a sad look on her face.

"That's just her resting face."

"Her sad resting face."

"She's sad about something, go talk to her." Suzy said and slightly nudged me into the room.

I went and sat down next to her.

"What?" She asked, taking an airpod out.

"How are you?" I asked.

"I'm tired of seeing sad but happy things on youtube."

"I have an influenced happy-sad right now." (Anyone else have that? It's the worst 😭)

"Wait, I'm gonna put a funny song on so I can be full-happy again." She said, going to youtube on her phone.

"You can talk about your sadness."

"The sadness is not mine to talk about." She retorted.

"Still, if you feel sad, you can talk about it." I said.

"I saw a baby take their first steps." She said, clicking a song that I immediately recognized.

"That's my song." I said. (It's up there)

"Uh yeah, I always have a laugh when I'm listening to this song."

"It's so funny."
