Azia's hand grasped my thigh as we drove through the night. The roof was down, allowing the crisp air to flow through my hair. It felt so freeing.
"Will you tell me where we're going now?" I pulled out my phone to check the state of my face.
"No matter how many times you ask, I'm not telling you." Azia smiled, her eyes never leaving the road.
"Rude ass," I pouted then faced the window.
"Sorry sweetheart, we're nearly there now." She smiled.

Her right hand covered my eyes while her left helped me navigate.
"Okay open."
I peeled my eyelids open, my eues stung as it adjusted to the light.
"Wow." I exclaimed. The night air was illuminated by dozens of fireflies. Looking straight ahead, I noticed a cute picnic set up with a big kuromi and keroppi plushie. The basket carried a big bottle of Prosecco with Crystal glasses sitting neatly on the blanket. There was a charcuterie board in the shape of a heart, harbouring thin slices of meat and cubes of cheese. Wooden bowls of pasta was steaming, the night air carried its heavenly aroma towards me.

"Azia, this is beautiful." I squealed excitedly.
"You think so?" She rubbed her neck shyly,
"I do, it's amazing I love it so much." I scurried to the blanket and sat down, motioning for Azia to sit next to me. I dug into the pasta and was hit by a familiar yet comforting taste,
"Is this Maria's recipe?" I asked,
"Yep, it took me a few tries I won't lie, I had to go to Maria today whilst you were at therapy so she could help me." She laughed nervously,
"You did that...all of this, for me?"
"I guess you could say that."

Eleena's brown eyes glazed over,
"Do you not like it? I'm sorry I know it's too muc-." She threw herself at me, engulfing me in a big bear hug making us land onto the plush pillows.
"I love it Azia! It's everything I've ever wanted but so much more! Thank you." She spoke into my hair, I returned the hug with a big grin plastered on my face. She really likes it. I made her smile, that's more than I ever wished for, to see her beautiful smile again.

I held her until she felt like letting go, we sat there in a comfortable silence, chowing down on the food and sipping on some cheeky prosecco.
"I'm stuffed." I huffed as I unbuttoned my jeans,
"Same, let's go home?"
"Yeah, I'll pack this up."
Heavy droplets of rain started to crash down towards us.
"Oh shit!" Eleena laughed and hurried to the car, carrying the picnic basket and pillows. She threw it into the back of my trunk and shut it quickly before jogging to the passenger seat.

I grabbed her hand,
"Azia, what are you doing??" She squealed,
"Dance with me." I said softly,
"Are you mad, it's pouring down!"
"So? I got extra clothes in the back and towels."
Eleena ran back into the rain, dragging me by the hand.

"May I have this dance?" Azia bowed before Eleena,
"You may!" Eleena curtsied and took her hand, the song filled the air almost silencing the loud splash each raindrop made as it collided with the grass below. Azia's hand was neatly placed on Eleena's waist whilst her other held her hand. Eleena held onto Azia's shoulder as they swayed happily. Their eyes never leaving each other, nervous giggles exchanged every so often. Azia spun her around then dipped her before pulling her back into a waltz.

"I feel like a whole princess what the hell!" Eleena cried out in laughter,
"That makes me your dashing princess then love." Azia smiled and dipped her once more, staring deeper into her brown eyes.
"What?" Eleena smiled,
"You're beautiful Eleena." Azia said confidently,
"You're gorgeous Azia." She pulled the girl back up and held both her hands.

I blushed as Azia placed a delicate kiss on my hands.
"Who would've thought we'd end up here?" I joked,
"I for one did not expect this at all." She laughed,
"Eleena...I have something to tell you." Azia stuttered,
"Talk to me honey." I held her hands in return, awaiting for her response.
