You close your eyes. The rustling of the leaves above your head sooth you, helping you forget the fighting coming through the windows. This treehouse was your sanctuary, your place of comfort. Ever since (best friend's name) moved away, escaping your parents' fights has been difficult. You have been spending most of your time in this tree house, it's not much but a few boards nailed to make a platform with a tarp stretched over it to keep out the rain. You open your eyes. The rays of sun shining through the leaves lighting up the blue tarp above, covering you in a blue hue. You pick up your closest piece of childhood, a ukulele. You pluck the strings to make sure they are tuned to perfection. You lean back against the trunk of the tree, you softly strum the strings to the simplest but sweetest melody whose mood could be changed with the slightest of strumming patterns. You strum it over and over, the music getting louder and louder, and faster and faster until you had to stop before you broke your nylon strings. Your fingers start moving to the song you and best friend had played so many years ago at the talent show at camp. (the song is 'Somebody' from Lemonade Mouth, the lyrics are from azlyrics.com)

Can you see me?

'Cause I'm right here

Can you listen?

'Cause I've been trying to make you notice

What it would mean to me

To feel like somebody

We've been on our way to nowhere

Tryin' so hard to get there

[Chorus:]

And I say

Oh!

We're gonna let it show!

We're gonna just let go of everything

Holding back our dreams

And try

To make it come alive

C'mon let it shine so they can see

We were meant to be

Somebody (Somebody)

Somebody, yeah (Somebody)

Somehow

Someday

Someway

Somebody

I'm so tired

Of being invisible

But I feel it, yeah

Like a fire below the surface

Trying to set me free

Burnin' inside of me

'Cause were standing on the edge now

It's a long way down

[Chorus:]

But I say

Oh!

We're gonna let it show!

We're gonna just let go of everything

Holding back our dreams

And try

To make it come alive

C'mon let it shine so they can see

We were meant to be

Somebody (Somebody)

Somebody, yeah (Somebody)

Somehow

Someday

Someway

Somebody

You could feel a tear slide down your cheek. You start playing louder and louder, the sound of the strumming mixed with your voice flowing out of you. Your bottled up emotions were letting loose. As you strum the last chord your mind travels back to when your family was happy. When you all would sit around the fire pit singing songs. When your mom first taught you how to play your ukulele. Mom. Why did you leave me?

After Kia and the boys got back onto the bounty, I ran into Cole, who was carrying a girl that was out cold over his shoulder. "Nya, hurry and go get Sensei Wu, we must speak with him immediately!" Zane yells as they all rush past me. I scramble off to get Sensei. "Sensei, the ninja want to talk to-," I yell as I burst into his room. I stand there my head hung a bit, ashamed for interrupting his meditation. "Forgive me for interrupting Sensei, but the ninja said it with the upmost urgency," I say raising my head. "It is quite alright Nya, if it is of the upmost importance I understand the reasoning for your sudden outburst." Sensei Wu says as he walks out of his room making his way to the infirmary, with me right on his heels. As we enter the room, the girl was laying on a bed. The ninja were securing straps to her wrists and legs. "My students would you care to explain, why you are restraining this girl?" Sensei Wu said calmly. While I on the other hand was freaking out on the inside. They abducted someone, knocked them out and are strapping them to a BED!! I was about to go over there and slap some sense into my brother for being such an idiot, but before I could, Lloyd stepped forward explaining; how they had followed the serpentine to their base, almost were attacked by her if for not the chains holding her back, her thinking they were serpentine, and rescuing her. "So the reason we are strapping her down is so while we are waiting for the results of the blood sample zane just took to see if she really was sprayed by a venomari, is so she doesn't attack us." he said as he concluded his explanation. Behind him Cole piped up, "And while she's here we can help heal her other injuries," "Her other injuries?" said Sensei and I at the same time. They rolled up her sweatshirt sleeves, pulling the bottom up to reveal her stomach and her arms covered with cuts and bruises. We gasp in shock at the condition of this poor girl. "And that's not all." said Jay as he pulled up her yoga pants to her thighs, showing that her legs were also covered in more cuts and bruises. But what caught my attention the most was the perfect lines slit into her wrists, and the clear words slashed into her stomach and sides reading; ugly, worthless, failure, slut, bitch, unloved, and hated. What on earth did this girl go through?

Zane P.O.V.

After carefully drawing a sample of blood from the girl's arm, I made my way to my room. I sit at my desk grabbing a microscope off my window sill. Taking a clear tile, I squeeze the syringe putting a drop of blood on it. Sliding it under the microscope, I pressed my eye to the lens. Everything looks about normal. I switch to a higher magnified lens. As I press my eye once again to the microscope. No! That's not possible!! I must tell Sensei at once. I snatch up the microscope running into the hallway towards the kitchen to share my discoveries with Sensei Wu. Hoping that is not too late. For any of us.
