(y/n) P.O.V.

You rest your hands on your knees. Your breathes heavy as you pant, your throat dry. Sweat dribbled down your face splattering onto the floor. You had been trying to do the obstacle course for the past five hours. The sun slipping behind the horizon. Everyone else had left to get dinner before heading to bed. You crept up the stairs the the deck, slipping the cloth over your mouth and nose, and sliding your billhooks into their holsters. You jump over the side of the ship, sliding as quietly as possible down the chain connected to the anchor. You land gently on your feet, you silently jump from the roof of Doomsday Comics, to the ground. You turn the corner to the alley, only to have your eyes widen in horror as you saw someone raise a hammer over their head, only to send it crashing down onto the combination lock protection your beloved ukulele. Your body shook with anger. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!!!!" you scream at him. He jumps, whirling around at your outburst. A smug grin plastered to his face. "Well, little girl, I'm trying to open this to get some cash duh, and who are you to tell me what I can and can not dufffff," He groaned as you kick him square in the jaw, causing him to fall onto the ground, dropping your case in the process. "YOU B****!! I'LL TEACH YOU TO MESS WITH ME!!!" he yells wiping blood from his mouth. You pull a billhook from its strap, as he raises his hammer over his head to strike you. You swing your billhook at his hammer, connecting with its handle just above his hand. The top of the hammer clatters to the floor, his mouth hanging open with shock. "If I ever catch you doing something like this again, I swear you will wish you got caught by the police," you threaten, your voice a low rumble, as you glare at him. He nods his head and bolted out of the alley, not even bothering to pick up his broken tool. You watch him leave, a smirk on your face. He's such a coward. You slid the billhook back into the strap. Clutching the case to your chest, you climb back to the roof. Sitting on the anchor you set the case on your lap, rolling the combination lock numbers, 0-8-1-2-0-9, you had it set to the date when everything in your life had gone wrong. The lock clicked open, you open the case to see your beautiful ukulele. You pick it up, turning it over in your hands and strumming the strings to make sure it wasn't damaged by the brute. The sweet sound of the chords fills your ears, being overcome by the music, your fingers glide across the strings, as you begin to sing,

I am not a child now

I can take care of myself

I mustn't let them down now

Mustn't let them see me cry

I'm fine, I'm fine

I'm too tired to listen

I'm too old to believe

All these childish stories

There is no such thing as faith

And trust and pixie dust

I try

But it's so hard to believe

I try

But I can't see what you see

I try, I try, I try...

My whole world is changing

I don't know where to turn

I can't leave you waiting

But I can't stay and watch this city burn

Watch it burn

'Cause I try

But it's so hard to believe

I try

But I can't see where you see

I try, I try

I try and try to understand

The distance in between

The love I feel and the things I fear

And every single dream

I can finally see it

Now I have to believe

All those precious stories

All the world is made of...

Faith, and trust... and pixie dust

So, I'll try

Because I finally believe

I'll try, cuz I can see what you see

I'll try, I'll try

I'll try...

To fly

As you strum the last chords, someone started clapping, "That was beautiful, (y/n)," You jump, whirling around to see Lloyd standing a couple feet away. "H-How much of that did you hear?" "Oh, only all of it," He smirked at the ground, kicking a stone off the roof. You blush as you hurriedly place your ukulele in its case, locking it shut. You slid it's shoulder strap over your head, "I really should get back," as you place your hands on the thick chain about to start climbing. "WAIT!!!" Lloyd grabbing onto your shoulder, causing you to turn around. He rubbed the back of his neck with his hand, "I...uh...I haven't really had a good time to apologize, so I wanted to say I'm sorry for walking in on you the other day," His cheeks blazing with a bright blush, his eyes cast to the ground, attempting to seem as less awkward as possible. You smile at him, "Well, I accept your apology and I forgive you," He looks up at you, his eyes shining, as he smiles back at you. "We should probably get back, someone might notice we're missing," he nods up at the bounty. You scoff, "Everyone's asleep by now, who could possibly still be awake?" "Cole stays up, eating cake and watching Kai, he has a nasty habit of sleepwalking, which is scary, him being The Ninja of Fire and all," You laugh, as you start to climb up the chain, Lloyd right behind you. "He must really like cake, huh?" you giggle. "Y-Y-Y-Yeah...He does," You hear Lloyd stutter, you look down, to see his face scarlet red, making him look like The Ninja of Christmas. "Hey, you okay? What's wrong with you?" He gulps, "Nu-Nothing," His eyes never meet yours. You follow his gaze, which was directed towards your butt. "Oh, like the view do you?" You laugh as you continue to climb, "Maybe you should take a picture, it's last longer," you shout over your shoulder. Silence, followed by a flash of light and the sound of a camera shutter. You stop climbing, and turn to glare down at him, "You know I was kidding Lloyd?" "Really? Well, I took it quite seriously," A smug grin on his face as he tucked his phone into the pocket of his gi. "Ugh, boys," you grumble as you climb to the top, swinging your self over onto the deck of the ship.
