I was sitting in my old room, hands on my head. So much confusion and so many questions. I'm kinda glad Zoey left, even if I don't know what's completely going on, I'd hate for her to see me like this. I ran over to my desk and pulled out a notebook so I could visually collect my thoughts. I glance at the small calendar sitting on a shelf on the wall. August 3, 2009. August 3, 2009! That's about a week before my world came crashing down. My breathes started to get faster, my lungs starting to burn. The air I was breathing felt toxic and stale. I had to get out of here. I grab my phone, earbuds, shoes, a coat and run down the stairs, sliding the notebook into a bag. I pop my head in the living room to see my mom and dad watching The Dark Knight. I was half tempted to stay and watch with them, but I couldn't stay here for much longer.

"Mom? Dad? I'm going to go out for a walk,"

"Okay, just be back by curfew,"

My curfew, a.k.a. 10 o'clock. which gave me a good six hours to figure this out. I shout a thanks at my parents before running out the door. Plugging my earbuds into my phone, I open Spotify, letting the music consume me. I found out that the other thing besides music that helps me escape the reality of the world is exercise. I started out on my usual route on Montgomery Drive. I love watching the trees and buildings pass me in the brilliant blur of color. As I run, a bright burst of color caught my eye. I come to a stop and look to see what it was. A sign with flashing lights, people eagerly coming in and out. Pete's Games. I had visited many times for birthday parties as a little girl. I turn and walk down memory lane. Walking past a building a particular symbol was spray painted on the wall of the alley next to it. I look at it curiously. I had the nagging feeling that I had seen this before but nothing was coming to mind. A jolt broke the spell sending me crashing back to earth, literally. A heavy weight onto of me kept me on the ground a sharp pain stinging on my knees and the heel of my hands.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Here let me help you,"

The weight was lifted from my body. I rolled over groaning. I bring my hands up to my face, dark red blood starting to collect where a long cut was made, a few small rocks and dirt sticking to the pink skin of my hand. A hand extended towards me. I grip it, letting them help me up. I look down to see my knees are almost as bad as my hands.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so so sorry,"

"It's all ri...Lloyd?"

The person standing before me was definitely the Lloyd I knew, only a lot shorter and younger. They had the same stunning green eyes and beautiful blonde hair. I stood there mouth agape completely astonished at what was before my eyes.

"Uh yeah? Um, I know this is kinda awkward, but uh have we met before?"

I blinked a couple of times. Of course he doesn't know me because he meets me in like six years or so.

"Uh, no. Sorry I don't think we have. I'm (Y/n),"

I stick out my hand to him and he firmly shakes it. His eyebrows knit together and he grabs my hand in both of his. He gazes down at my hands. When he looks up, sadness and pain fills his eyes. He turns away and starts to lead me down the alley.

"Hey, where are we going?"

"It's my fault that you're like that, so it's only fair that I help fix you up,"
