It was 2023, Jobe, Ella, and Ava had moved past everything bad that had happened to them in the years before. A few months back Jobe had reached out to a friend of his, Jeremiah. Jobe was living at his house alone. He loved it, no one there to bother him, privacy, and better Wi-Fi. Jobe loved being alone. He liked to draw, he would sell some of his drawings and designs online for money, but since he was getting paid weekly by The Others, and it was not a small amount of money... he was rich, and he had a quarter of a million dollars to spend each month. He was friends with a bunch of celebrities now. He also lived in LA, so did Ella. Ella lived by herself with her 2 dogs Dolly, and Bruno. She, Jobe, and Jeremiah would always hang out. They liked going on shopping sprees every weekend. Jobe and Ella had told Jeremiah what had happened to them, and he believed them of course when Jobe showed Jeremiah his powers. Nene and Jobe still hadn't talked since what happened in Purgatory, and from what was being shown it would be a long while; if not forever until they talked again. Sophia would also occasionally join them on their shopping sprees, but was usually busy most of the time. It was October 11th... Jobe, Ella, Jeremiah, and Sophia were out at the Mall in LA, bags in their hands after a long day of shopping for vinyl records, clothes, makeup, and most importantly... Halloween costumes. They stopped at the big Spirit Halloween store that had just taken over a store that went out of business. They were gonna go to a halloween party that Friday. Everyone was going. There were lots of parties in LA, a lot of famous people too. That's why Jobe was friends with a lot of them. He was doing online courses at UCLA to become a certified movie director. Jobe liked to write stories, and wanted to watch them come to life. He only had a year left to go. As the 4 of them were walking down the middle section of the mall they bumped into Micheal.
"Oh my God! Hi Micheal, I haven't seen you in so long, girl!" Jeremiah said.
"Hey..." Micheal said as he hugged Jeremiah.
"Oh, hey Micheal." Sophia said.
They all stood there awkwardly, knowing that the last time they had seen each other all of their friends had died, and they killed the Grim Reaper himself. You'd think they would be closer after that experience. Jobe looked at Micheal, he smiled as he did so.
"Do you want to come to this party with us on Friday?" Ella asked.
"Yeah." Micheal said.
"Okay, well-"
Ella was interrupted by Jeremiah. He rolled his eyes as he snatched Micheal's phone from his hand. It was already open because Micheal had been on it as he was walking through the mall with a bag from the Pizza Hut at the other side of the mall, that's when he bumped into them.
Jeremiah scrolled through his phone until he saw the green phone icon on the side of his screen. He clicked on it, went to the section of the app where you dial phone numbers and put Ella's in, saving it as a contact after he called him and hung up after a second.
"You guys are like middle schoolers asking each other out to a dance, God help us all." Jeremiah said.
Ella kicked Jeremiah in his shin, the energy between all of them being very awkward.
Ella chuckled as this energy of awkwardness floated around everyone.
"Well, I'll see y'all at that party!" Micheal said.
"That was literally, the WORST interaction I have ever seen between two people in my life." Sophia said.
"He obviously likes you." Jobe said.
"No he doesn't." Ella said.
"I NEED to teach you some pointers when we get to your house." Sophia said.
Ella's house was pretty big. She had a 2 story house a few blocks away from Jobe's. Him and Ella would always call Ava to try and make time to hang out with them, but she was always busy. Ella would always have guys hit on her at stores, but she would just say, "Oh, I'm taken." She was paranoid that they were psychos or kidnappers. She didn't like having the stress on her back of having to deal with another person like giving them gifts, remembering anniversaries, and not being able to go to her own family's house for Thanksgiving, and Christmas every other year. It just wasn't her thing. Jobe and Ella eventually got Ava to go visit them. It was Fall, in the middle of October. Ava was free the whole month so she was staying at Ella's while she was there. They didn't know she had already gotten there. "Hey guys!" Ava yelled.
"Agh!" Jobe screamed. He burst out in electricity, accidentally striking Ella's couch.
"Jobe!" Ella yelled. She ran to the area of the couch Jobe had shot with his power, and felt it to see if it was fixable.
"Ugh! This is custom! It's gonna take weeks to ship back to me to fix it!" Ella griped. She still was kind of irritable after what happened before all this.
The demon that had possessed her took a toll on her emotions, and they probably won't go back to normal for a while.
Everyone walked up to Ava, and hugged her. Jeremiah and Ava had also started talking to each other online and had become friends. Something strange happened though. As Jobe hugged Ava, a sense of dread came over him. He felt that he was about to have a vision, but it was like something had stopped it from happening. Jobe brushed it off and didn't ever mention it to anyone.
They watched some movies later that night, staying up till 4:00 am and waking up at 3:00 pm. They hadn't done that in a while. It was fun for them.
