We were dismissed for the last period and everyone was fixing their stuff. But, I'm here hesitating to go to Amery. I checked the time and quickly stood up.
"Hey" I'm standing in front of her and unfortunately, doing the first move. This is not really me.
"Hi, what's up?" she asked tilting her head and acting confused. God, she's so cute.
I cleared my throat and looked away. "Mom is asking if you can have dinner with us sa bahay namin later to thank you for doing our volleyball team's uniform." Her eyes suddenly light up.
"OMGG YES, the CEO Elyse Ledezma-Camero wants to have dinner with me?! I just dreamt about this and it's really happening!!" Amery's hands covered her mouth and her excitement came. She stood up and hugged me while squealing excitedly. At that moment, I froze.
"What's your perfume? It smells nice eh." she randomly asked out of the blue and let go of the hug. I instantly felt my cheeks burn.
"H-huh? I don't really remember but Kiel gave it to me." I answered.
"Oh, your brother? I saw him a while ago pala and he said something. He's acting really weird lately." she casually said that making me overthink.
...
It was 6 pm and I'm waiting outside her house. I leaned back on the hood of my car starting to get nervous and my heart started beating so fast.
"Camero!" Amery waved at me while closing the gate.
I was stunned while staring at her. She was wearing a floral puff sleeve dress paired with white heels and a small handbag. Gorgeous. She's really gorgeous.
"So what, are you just going to stare at me? Do I look like an angel?" she smirked.
I cleared my throat and shook my head. I opened the door of my car to the shotgun seat and let her in.
"Seven, you can do this. Huwag ka kabahan." telling myself before I went in my car.
...
"Thank you for inviting me, Mrs. Camero." shaking her right hand over mom's hand. Dad was standing beside mom and Kiel is wearing a playful smile on his face. Malamang inaasar ako.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. You're a lovely lady no wonder why my son likes-"
"Mom, when will we eat dinner?" I interjected their conversation. I don't have the courage to tell my feelings yet. Actually, confess. I don't have the courage to confess yet to her. I don't want our friendship to be ruined by telling her what I feel.
"Oh right, I almost forgot about that na." Mom said.
Dad and Kiel chuckled as I glanced at them.
...
"The steak is so good po!" Amery complimented. Well, I totally agree not until...
"Siyempre naman, ako nagluto eh!" pagmamayabang ni dad. I was surprised kasi dad would usually cook filipino dishes.
"Your tito shan taught him." mom mouthed to me while dad was having a conversation with Amery. I stared at them at gumaan ang pakiramdam ko when she was laughing with dad.
"Kuya, alam mo kung ako sayo umamin ka na baka maunahan ka pa ng iba." Nagtaka ako on what Kiel just said. I mean, coming from him? Wala naman siya experience sa mga ganyan unless.. may nagugustuhan siya. Baka he doesn't want to tell us yet at aasarin lang siya nina dad like what they are doing to me.
"Bakit mo naman nasabi yan?" Waiting for his answer.
"Kanina nakita ko si ate may kumakausap sa kanya galing higher level." My brother said while playing with his fork.
"Kaya lumapit ako sa kanya." he added and looked at me na may 'mapangasar' na ngiti.
"What did you tell her?" I seriously said. Knowing Kiel, madaldal yan. I just prayed na sana hindi niya sinasabi kay Amery about it.
"Sinabi ko lang naman na layuan niya yung lalaki kasi may secret admirer na siya." he burst out laughing. It's not even funny. I was about to be mad at him but..
"Ano pinaguusapan niyo? Sali naman kami dyan." dad came to our side with Amery. I didn't notice na lumabas pala sila.
She sat beside me with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Are you cold?" I asked her.
"Hindi naman.."
Still, I took my jacket and gave it to her. She was struggling to put it on so I helped her.
"Ehem ehem, nakakahiya naman sa amin Kuya." Kiel said loudly which made my face burned. Hiyang-hiya na ako.
"Uhh aalis na po kami mom and dad. Hahatid ko na po si Amery."
"Bye po, tita and tito!" Amery kissed their cheek and waved goodbye to Kiel.
...
We are now on our way back to her house and she was smiling by herself. I think she's posting something and texting her friends about her day. It really made my heart flutter.
"Thank you for today, Seven." she kept on smiling.
"You're welcome." I smiled back.
I was hoping that she would ask me something about overhearing our conversation a while with Kiel but she suddenly leaned towards me and kissed me on my left cheek.
"Goodbye." she lowered her voice at dali-daling lumabas ng sasakyan.
"Shit, delikado ka na Seven."
