Oh boy.

I am the chief of the grammar police. Trust me, your grammar will make or break your book.

It is so detrimental that I'll skim through the first few chapters to check the grammar to decipher whether or not it will be a good book. Seriously, there's so many tools online that can help you with your fucking grammar. So many fics I've read have such a good plot. Such a good goddamn plot! But the grammar just fucking sucks. Seriously, don't be a lazy writer and just put in the effort your poor readers deserve!!

Also, sidenote. If your first language isn't English, or if you're learning and trying your best, I understand! You are innocent. You are not the people I'm talking about. Keep going, I'm proud of you!

But you little fuckers who just can't be arsed to check your grammar because you're lazy? Get out.

Honestly, a quick google search will help you out if you're uncertain, but I'll list a few I've seen. There's many more, but the numbers stack up ridiculously and I could probably make two books on all of the grammar mistakes I've seen.

You're/your

You're: to put it simply, it is two words "you" and "are" put together to make writing "you are" easier. Also, make sure "you're" looks like that and not "youre".

Your: a possessive term, meaning, for example, that the pen on the floor is yours, or the person you're speaking to. Example: "is that your pen on the floor?"

There/they're/their

There: a word used to describe a place, example: "the pen is right there!"

They're: once again a conjunction of words, "they" and "are".

Their: a possessive term. For example: "that is their pen!

There's some common misconceptions with dialogue as well that I'd like to clear up.

Oh no Poppyfur is attacking us Pebblepounce meowed flicking her tail with worry

Introducing... Punctuation!

"Oh no! Poppyfur is attacking us" Pebblepounce meowed, flicking her tail with worry.

Also, you're going to want to put a comma before the quotation marks when you finish with the dialogue. This is because it shows that the action following has something to do with it. Pebblepounce meowed that sentence, and after we finished it off with the quotation marks, the following sentence was stating that she meowed it. I hope that makes sense! So, the final product would be:

"Oh no! Poppyfur is attacking us," Pebblepounce meowed, flicking her tail with worry.

Also, once another character is speaking, you start a new paragraph like this.

"Oh no! Poppyfur is attacking us," Pebblepounce meowed, flicking her tail with worry.

"Don't worry! We can do this," Icecreampaw growled, unsheathing her claws.

Oops... Icecreampaw is back.

If your grammatical errors can't be fixed here, please please please PLEASE download Grammarly or at least check your work on a site. Maybe even google words you're not sure of. It really doesn't have to be complicated.
