So now we've picked Winterface's proper pelt and eye colour, it's time to change that name.
Let me explain something to those of you who like to name your cats things like Carvroom.
Like how Spanish is a language that is different from Chinese, cat language is different from human language. You wouldn't say someone who only knows Chinese would know how to say mi gusta papas fritas.
So why would you expect a cat to know what autumn, summer, winter or spring (in this case, the season) would mean?? It makes absolutely no sense to name Winterface the way she is named, because it's not apart of their language. It also doesn't make sense to call Carvroom his name because "car" is not apart of their vocabulary. NEITHER IS OCEAN! That one really pisses me off.
So, name your cats on the things they know. For example if they live in a desert-y territory you're not gonna name one of your cats Polarbearfeather.
Just think.
Warrior cat names, as you probably know, are seperated into two parts. A prefix and suffix. Let's take Bramblestar as an example here. When he was born, his name was Bramblekit because he is a kitten, and hasn't earned his full name yet. Then, he becomes an apprentice and his name is changed to Bramblepaw, the title reserved for apprentices. Then, he earns the warrior name of Brambleclaw, which is the last name they earn unless the cat becomes a leader, in that case "star" will be added to the end like this. Bramblestar.
Bramble"kit"
Bramble"paw"
Bramble"claw"
Bramble"star"
Text in quotations marks is the suffix.
Now, let's fix Winterface's name, since cats don't know what winter is. They call it leaf bare.
She has a blue gray pelt so maybe Pebble for the prefix. Then, for the suffix, let's say she's a really good hunter. So her name will be Pebblepounce. It's simple once you get the hang of it.
It's just important to make sure it's something cats know about, like plants and animals native to that area.
So absolutely no Cottoncandytail please. NO.
