Jay couldn't keep his mind calm. Not that anyone could in his situation. He was hopeless. Nobody was coming to rescue him now. But suddenly, he heard someone approaching and unlocking the door. Jazz music played faintly in the background—if he wasn't mistaken, it was the "Pink Panther" theme.
He quickly pretended to be unconscious, sitting still on the chair. He sensed a presence close by and felt someone standing right in front of him. The sound of a chair being pulled and someone sitting down followed. His curiosity got the better of him, and he slowly opened one eye to see who it was.
What he saw shocked him.
"MMMPH!!" Jay screamed in shock, but his mouth was tightly wrapped up. He stared wide-eyed at the person sitting in front of him, wearing a horrifying bunny mask. Jay never expected to see something like that right when he opened his eyes.
The person slowly lifted the mask, revealing a familiar face beneath it. Jay's heart skipped a beat as recognition dawned on him. It was none other than Park Sunghoon.
Sunghoon wiped his fake tears and looked at Jay, who stared back in utter disbelief. Of course, only this guy could pull off a prank like this. Jay felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him for thinking a serial killer had kidnapped him. He started cursing loudly, but with the gag in his mouth, his words were a jumbled mess.
Seeing this, Sunghoon untied the cloth from Jay's mouth.
"YOU LITTLE FUCKER!" Jay exploded, the words pouring out like a storm. Sunghoon just backed away, unfazed. He was used to it by now.
"Aww... don't be mad, Jay-ah," Sunghoon pouted, acting all innocent. Jay rolled his eyes in annoyance. He wasn't going to fall for those puppy eyes this time.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't be mad," Jay shot him a glare that could pierce steel.
"Because... we're married?" Sunghoon offered with a sheepish smile, his fingers twiddling nervously like a shy anime girl.
"What the fu-" Jay began, but Sunghoon quickly covered his mouth with both hands. Jay's eyes widened, and he bit down hard on Sunghoon's hand.
"Ouch! Why did you bite me?" Sunghoon complained, rubbing his hand with a pout.
"You deserve more," Jay smirked, his tone mocking.
Sunghoon rolled his eyes dramatically and reached for the pizza box beside him. Opening it, he revealed only two slices left. He picked up one slice with his right hand and a cat plushie with his left, using it as a makeshift puppet and talking in a high-pitched voice.
"Hi, Jay! I'm Soonie," Sunghoon said, making the plushie wave.
Jay rolled his eyes. He'd had enough of this drama already.
"I brought you some pizza from France, made especially for you," Sunghoon continued, moving the puppet.
Jay glared at him. "Firstly, it's Italy, not France. Secondly, why do you have Minho Hyung's plushie?"
"He gave it to me," Sunghoon replied, blinking innocently. Jay just glared in silence. The room grew quiet for a couple of minutes.
"Why am I here?" Jay suddenly asked, breaking the silence.
Sunghoon smirked weirdly. "Because I brought you here."
Jay let out a sigh of frustration. "I know YOU brought me here, but WHY?! What's the reason?" Jay demanded, his voice rising. Sunghoon shut his eyes tightly at the outburst.
"Chill, I just need you to sign this," Sunghoon said, waving his hands dismissively and holding up a piece of paper. Jay raised an eyebrow, suspicious.
"What is it?" Jay asked, glancing from the paper to Sunghoon.
