Sunghoon felt a chill run down his spine as he peeked through the peephole. Why is the cop back? If he and Jay get caught like this, it'll be a disaster. Biting his thumb nervously, Sunghoon mumbled, "What should I do? What should I do?!" He needed a plan, and fast. The first thing to do was hide Jay. With that thought, he dashed toward the basement.
Meanwhile, Jay had finally managed to cut the ropes binding his hands, though the broken glass had left his hands bloody and stinging. He sighed with relief, hoping the cuts weren't too deep. Now all that was left was to unshackle his legs and make a break for it.
Just as he was about to proceed, he heard loud footsteps. Was Sunghoon coming back? Damn, there goes his chance again. Jay struggled to stand, using the chair for support, but it was proving to be a challenge. He had to push himself harder.
Sunghoon was rushing to the door barefoot, sweat dripping down his face. He had to either hide Jay or get him out of there, somehow. As he opened the basement door and hurried down the stairs, he saw Jay still sitting where he had left him. But something was off. Shattered glass littered the floor.
"Jay, what the hell happened?" Sunghoon's voice was a mix of panic and frustration.
"What happened here?" Sunghoon demanded, his eyes narrowing as he surveyed the broken glass and scattered noodles.
"Oh, I dropped my Ramen," Jay replied innocently, a slight smile playing on his lips. Sunghoon froze for a moment, disbelief flickering across his face.
"We can get you more later. Right now, you need to hide," Sunghoon said urgently, moving towards Jay with a cloth in hand.
Jay's eyebrows shot up in confusion. "Hide? What's going on?"
Sunghoon attempted to cover Jay's mouth with the cloth, but Jay resisted vehemently. "Let me go, damn it!" he protested, struggling against Sunghoon's grip. In the scuffle, Jay managed to deliver a solid punch to Sunghoon's stomach, causing him to double over in pain, clutching his abdomen.
While Sunghoon was distracted, Jay swiftly freed himself from the remaining restraints. It turned out he had already undone the ropes earlier, using the broken glass, and had been pretending to still be tied up. Sunghoon had been completely fooled.
Jay frantically searched for the key to the shackles, rummaging through shelves and drawers, but couldn't find it. Just as he started to panic, Sunghoon recovered and grabbed Jay from behind, restraining him forcefully.
"Let me go!" Jay shouted, struggling against Sunghoon's hold.
"No way!" Sunghoon retorted stubbornly, tightening his grip. Jay elbowed him sharply, causing Sunghoon to wince but still holding on. Desperate, Jay grabbed the noose that had been around his neck and quickly tied it to a nearby chair. Though his legs were still bound, he began hopping towards the door, determined to escape.
Sunghoon tried to follow Jay, but the noose around his neck, tied to the chair, yanked him back.
Jay, taking advantage of the moment, managed to hop out of the basement and make his way to the front door in small jumps.
Gasping for breath, Sunghoon quickly untied himself from the chair and bolted after him. Jay reached the front door, flinging it open in a bid for freedom. Just as he was about to escape, Sunghoon caught up and grabbed him, pulling him back inside.
Outside on the street, two guys were caught up in a heated argument. It was Officer Jungkook and his roommate Taehyung. This time, Taehyung was dressed in a formal shirt and pants, while Jungkook had been persuaded to change into a more casual outfit, though his choice of clothes and sunglasses made him look more like a gangster. They were facing each other, arguing, with Taehyung holding a cake. Neither noticed Jay and Sunghoon at the front door, pulling each other's hair.
