Garroth pasted the hallway infront of the infirmary. He was conflicted.
How could this happen? How could a prince of O'khasis be attacked right next door to him without any word? Where were the guards? Was his brother going to survive? What would happen if he didn't?! How, how, how!?
"Garroth!! What happened!? I heard one of you got hurt!!!" Their mother yelled as she ran down the hallway in her robe. The guards turned their heads to not be inappropriate to the queen.
"It's Zane mother! I found him in his room and-...." Garroth put a hand over his mouth as he remembered the cuts on his mouth that made a smile.
Seeing this, their mother assumed the worst. "IS HE DEAD!?" She screatched. Grabbing at her ears. Garroth grabbed her shoulders.
"NO! He's alive! It's- it's hard to explain..."
"He didn't smile." The king suddenly boomed.
Like a ghost, the king appeared behind Garroth. Making him jump. The insane look in his eye showed he was not well. They all knew to avoid him when he was like this but Garroth suddenly felt a wave of rage.
"That do you mean he didn't smile!?" Garroth yelled.
"Garroth!!!" His mother tried to protest and make him stop but he pulled away from her.
"SPEAK! WHAT DID YOU DO!?" Garroth yelled.
The king just stared and looked like he was at the verge of laughing insanely. The gleeful look on his fathers face made Garroth step back aswel as his mother.
"G-gards..? P-please take my husband back to his quarters. NOW!" The queen ordered. Instantly the guards escorted the king away.
After a minute Dr. Anderson came through the door of the medical wing where Zane was. He closed the door behind him and faced the royals with a depressing look.
"How bad is it this time?" The Queen asked softy.
"This time!? What are you talking about!? What's going on!?" Garroth asked.
Dr. Anderson ignored him. "He's fine. He'll live. Thanks to Garroth here he probably would have bled to death otherwise. I stitched and cleaned him up. Some rope marks on his limbs and burns on his chest from the wax, like usual. He'll heal up good but-tah... there will be scaring."
"How bad?" Zianna asked.
"Definitely noticeable. Won't know until it's healed really." Dr. Anderson stated.
"Is he awake?" Garroth hurriedly asked.
"No. He's asleep. Likely from the drugs in his system, the fact its literally 4AM, and the bloodloss. He's tired Garroth. Let him sleep. Zianna. You need to tell him." Dr Anderson stated. The queen looked down frightened.
"I need to go downtown quick. Be back soon." Dr. Anderson stated, than he left.
Garroth turned to his mother. "Whats going on!?"
Zianna looked ashamed and on the verge of crying. She just shook her head and went into the room. Garroth followed and stopped at the door.
Zane was asleep on one of the cots with his face stitched up along where the cuts were. Blood soaked the sheets around him. Reflecting that blood was dripping down his face mere minutes ago.
Garroth flashed back to the bloody scene he saw. Making him freeze for a moment.
Meanwhile Zianna didn't hesitate but went to her sons bedside immediately. As if it was normal. Holding his limp hand tightly.
