"Heyyyyy guys!"
I walk into my first period class and sit at the normal table.
"Yo, Loiv, have a good weekend?" That was Jared.
"It was fine, yeah."
"Nice, nice, get a girlfriend yet?" Samuel, well, we call him Sammy said that one.
"No... Not yet. Haha..." I went to scratch the back of my neck but he jabbed me in the ribs.
"Come onnnn man, what? You plan on dating a dude?" No, but I don't really want a girlfriend right now either.
"How about you, Tom? You have a good weekend?" The quiet one to end off our barbershop quartet.
"Oh uh... Yeah, I did."
"Nice, what'd you do?"
"Oh I went to the beach."
Beach, huh?
Either way, that got the topic off of me, and the rest of them kept talking about their own lives.
I've hung out with these dudes since childhood, although I do wish that I made some new friends now that I'm in high school, they're still fun to be around.
I guess some exposition is in order, my name is Loiv, I'm 16 years old, have blonde hair, green eyes, and I am mortally terrified of women. That last part's not true, but I would rather not be around them most of the time. That's... Also not true. I just don't get them, so I tend to avoid them. Men are so much easier, so I'm fine with spending my highschool life like this, at least for now. Oh yeah, about the four of us, despite the bullying, the only one who actually has a girlfriend in the group is Tom, surprisingly.
"Settle down, class." Our homeroom teacher, Mr. Staln just came in, and with him, everyone went quiet.
This class was math.
School is enjoyable enough, math passes by fast, and next up is history, then science.
In history none of the quartet is there, but in science I sit by Tom, so that's fun.
I normally just stay quiet in all of my classes without any friends, but I've managed to befriend a few dudes in each of my classes, seeing as we're about 5 weeks into the school year now.
After science is Physical Education, or PE, which I'm quite okay at, and I don't have to worry about girls in that class, at the very least.
Then is English.
"Hey-hey-hey!"
"Whazzzzzzzuppppppppppppp?" The entire quartet is in this class as well, that was Sammy by the way.
"Nothing much, nothing much, nothing much."
We messed around a bit longer before our teacher showed up and then we messed around but quietly.
The final two classes, Theater and Orchestra.
I walked into Theater class, a class which I never even signed up for and just accidentally got put in, the same as always. By the same as always I mean with my head down, but today, I wasn't quite so lucky.
"Hey, Loiv, right?"
"Hm? Ye-" I stopped.
"Oh yuhh umm yeah that's uh me what... What is it??" I couldn't stop myself from scratching the back of my head and backing up.
I saw the hand outstretched at me, was this a fight offer? What do I do here?
"My name's Mari, let's be friends."
Friends? With a girl? I... Don't think I can do that.
But of course, I put out my hand slowly, and she took it, moved it up and down, and then walked away, smiling.
"What?"
What was that? How did that happen? Why did that happen?
I felt sick, did she just like... Steal my DNA or something?
Okay... Maybe I am scared of women.
I just sat in the back of the class that day, I paid absolutely no attention to whatever our teacher was saying.
Finally, finally finally, that class ended.
I rushed out of there, I think I might've heard that voice say something to me as I ran out but there is no way I'm dealing with that right now.
I mean I guess I want to be her friend, but, like, no.
I can't do something like that.
I smacked myself on both sides of my face like I was some TV show character trying to calm down, and remembered where I was.
I walked to orchestra class.
Luckily, Mari? She wasn't in that class, so I was fine, for now.
That's a problem for me to deal with... Tomorrow.
I play the cello by the way, I played poorly today, though. The teacher didn't notice.
And so I went home, and felt way more tired than normal, so I went to bed.

The next day, I felt kind of strange.
No I didn't fall in love with a girl after meeting her just once, just like, physically strange.
Whatever, though, I had to get ready for school.
I changed my outfit, half awake. I think I lost some weight or something, my clothes were practically slipping off.
Also am I paler? Am I sick or something?
I looked in the mirror for a few seconds.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" A feminine shriek escaped my mouth, and also the mouth of the girl staring back at me in the mirror.
