Chapter 19

RICHARD

If I had a time machine, I'd stay stuck at this moment, everything seemed too good to be true.

I sealed a major deal with the investors, the stock price of the company skyrocketed and I was nominated as the CEO, laying next to me is a woman that changed everything, and made me feel that love is worth giving a chance.

My gaze fell on Sophia who was half asleep by my side, we had been drinking to celebrate my nomination.
she looked delicate and beautiful as she lay there, my entire body burned for her and I leaned in and kissed her forehead softly hoping I don't bother her.

She opened her eyes and blinked at me,  I wanted to look away embarrassed, but she smiled and pulled me in for a hug.

"I'm so happy that you are happy Richard,"  she said softly.

I pulled her away gently and looked into her beautiful brown eyes, she looked so innocent, so soft,  suddenly the fear that I might not be able to protect her overwhelmed me, and memories of that night six years ago came flooding in, I reacted by pushing her away.

"What is wrong? Are you okay " she asked concerned and holding onto my hand tightly.

" I'm good, I just don't know if I deserve this, I haven't been a very good person, " I said, desiring to open up about the past  I regretted, but I knew she will hate me if she ever found out.

"Richard you are a good person and you deserve this, you worked hard for this," she responded.

" do you think I deserve you, what if I end up hurting you" "  I said  letting all my guard down

" I trust you, I know you would never hurt me " she replied, "now come here, " she said opening up her arms to hug me, instead I lean forward and plant a kiss on her lips.

I simply wished to kiss her softly on the lips but she held on to me and kissed me harder gently drawing me in with her tongue, every time I kissed her it felt different, it felt new, I had the same tingly sensation as the first time we kissed.

She grabbed my hair and dragged me down, pressing all her curves on my body, her skin was soft, hot, and desperately in need of me, I catch her breast with my tongue while caressing her butt, she bites my shoulder gently, and my fingers find a way to her spot and I slid it in gently, she lets out a soft moan, I whispered

"let's end our contract "

She shoved me away and paused for a moment stunned.

She gathered her energy and asked

"What do you mean Richard?

" I mean let's get married, like really get married," I said nervously

" what? Is this one of your jokes because this isn't funny..... " before she could finish her sentence I reached out to the drawer by the side of a bed and brought out the ring box, she looked at me astonished.

I took her hand, she gasped as her gaze fell on the Auburn 14kt gold engagement ring, she withdrew her hand immediately.

"Don't you think we are going too fast? " she asked still in shock.

" I feel something Soph, and I have never felt this way in my entire life, " I said.

" I... I... I don't know if it's okay to do this ..... " she stuttered.

"I don't know either, but I want to do this with you," I said.

She sighed and nodded excitedly, I gently slid the ring onto her finger, and she stared at it dumbfounded and pulled me in hugging me tightly.
