It had been a week since the dairy and things had got progressively worse at the motel.

Lilly was grief stricken and on edge. She had tried to take a full leadership role with the group, leading to more arguments with her and Kenny.

Clem was sad most days, not having spoke to Y/N since the dairy incident. She didn't know how to start the conversation. She spent more and more time secretly talking to her new friend on the walkie-talkie. He was really nice.

Y/N hadn't gone out hunting, but he was becoming more and more withdrawn from the group. The first four days he had done the night guard, staying up by himself all night. He'd slept through the day, only emerging at dinner time, taking his portion and going to sit alone from the group to eat.

Kenny was worried but couldn't get much out of him. Three days prior the adults except Lilly had had a conversation and agreed Brendon would take the next few night shifts. Y/N had said fine, but was still withdrawn from the group. Each night a couple more arrows would appear in the wall, they were being fired on, but no one had made a move yet or been spotted. Y/N was growing more and more agitated as the days went by- he had moved his belongings out of his room and into the RV, sleeping on the sofa in there at night.

He was currently walking through Macon with Kenny and Lee, doing their third supply run in as many days, trying to clear the pharmacy out completely.

Kenny was walking with a pistol, Lee a rifle, Y/N his crossbow. They each had an empty backpack on as they walked through the deserted and crumbling streets. They reached the edge of Main Street and peered round the corner- the coast was clear. They continued walking along the empty road.

"Looks like this is our lucky day" Kenny chuckled.

"Yeah, this might actually go smoothly" Lee added.

"We fuckin' need it after yesterday" Y/N said gruffly. They had barely made it out the previous day, Lee got grabbed and in the commotion they'd drawn a mini-horde down on themselves.

"No kidding" Kenny replied before grasping his side in pain and groaning.

"You alright Ken?" Y/N asked with concern.

"Yeah I'm alright son, just not as young as I used to be" Kenny replied, giving Y/N's a shoulder a reassuring squeeze.

Y/N nodded before continuing forward.

"While it's just the three of us, what are you thinking now the RV is runnin' Y/N?"

"We need to go Ken. Soon. Today if not tomorrow. Those arrows have me worried".

Kenny nodded in agreement before turning to Lee.

"You still in Lee?"

"We should go. The motel's run its course and it's not safe" Lee answered without hesitation before asking "Who else is aware?"

"Bren and Car. Katjaa. You said anything to Clem?" Y/N asked. Lee shook his head before asking:

"What about Ben and Lilly?"

"Fuck Ben. Fucking little shitbird" Y/N snapped. He and Ben didn't get on. Even remotely. The only time they had spoken for the past week was when Y/N snapped at him to "stop being a whiny little bitch".

"Gangly shit-for-brains" Kenny chuckled before adding "We pile into the RV and don't pull over 'til we see water. And if Lilly's dead-set on staying, then, well, that's the way it goes".

He quickly asked Lee:

"Your girl still upset with me for taking stuff out of that car last week?"

"I think she understands" Lee replied as Kenny muttered "I hope so". He turned to Y/N and asked "she said anything to you kid?"
