They gathered in the courtyard, waiting for the general to announce their training plans for that day. "I hope we get to do archery training today."

Jungkook groaned. He loathed archery and had no idea why Tae liked it so much. He much preferred using his sword; it was more personal. He wanted to see the light drain from their eyes when he killed them. He didn't use to be this bloodthirsty, but someone from the North stole his Omega, and that brings out the worst in you.

He jolted, bending over in pain. "Are you finally going into a rut?" Tae gasped.

"No, you know I don't have ruts. Even when I presented it wasn't a normal rut, I've been getting these pains for years, every two weeks. My entire body is on fire; I can't explain it."

Tae scrunched up his nose a bit. "Sounds like a heat," he giggled a bit as he got closer to Jungkook's neck. "Are you sure you are an Alpha?" he asked as he smelled his cotton scent.

"Yes," he deadpanned as he pushed Tae's face away from his neck, "I've known I was an Alpha since I was four. Now get out of my neck."

"You do smell sweeter, though, almost."

"Cream like? Yeah, I know," Jungkook sighed. "Everyone thinks I've been seeing an Omega because the cream mixes with my scent."

Tae frowned, "Well, I know you haven't been with any Omegas, so why do you smell like one?"

The Alpha shrugged, "how should I know? The last time I smelled like cream was when Minnie was in heat that first time. I spent it with him in his nest, holding him and ensuring he ate, drank, and rested. I smelled like cream until he was stolen from me. Then, about a month after that, I smelled it again. It happened sporadically at first. Every few months, like it was synced with his heats. But then it started showing up more often; now it's every two weeks. I usually catch it in time and can cover it up."

"God, I hope it's not his heats that are making you smell like that. Can you imagine going into heat twice a month?" Tae's entire body shook, "thank fuck I'm a beta because that shit sounds horrible."

"We need volunteers to go on a super secret mission."

Jungkook snapped his head up to look at General Kim, a strong Alpha who looked like a model—he was so pretty. He was tall and had the broadest shoulders he'd ever seen. "I'll go," Jungkook shouted before his brain even processed what he was doing.

Seokjin nodded his head once and wasn't surprised when the Beta standing next to Jungkook volunteered with him. Those two had been inseparable since they joined. The only other one who got even remotely close was an Omega named Yoongi. "You two come with me; the King needs to speak with you." They gathered their things to follow their General.

Jungkook was lost in thought; Seokjin was too young to be a General. But he was one only because he saved the current King when he was still a crown Prince. About five years ago, the castle was attacked. The King and Queen were killed and he heard the enemy talking about finding the Prince. Hoseok was a Beta and the sweetest person you'd ever meet, but that wouldn't stop them from brutally murdering him. So Jin ran, he had no weapons, hell he didn't even have shoes on and he was in his fucking pajamas since they attacked at night while he was sleeping.

He ran to his Prince and shoved him into the hidden space behind the wall tapestry seconds before the enemy entered his room. Jin had his hand over Hobi's mouth as the Prince silently sobbed against the older man. Jin was freaking out; he had no idea how they were going to get out of this. But then he heard fighting and his little brother's voice. So he dragged the Prince back into his room, and there his little brother Namjoon was, along with Yoongi and the two who had always been with the Omega. He didn't know their names yet; he was much higher in the hierarchy than they were.

Jungkook remembered his first day in training; there was a happy Beta buzzing around him that would not shut up, and that's when he saw Yoongi. He heard the other Alphas and Betas, an Omega that hated everyone, not to waste his time with that one. What Omega could ever be trusted to be as good as other ranks? Jungkook was wary, but not because he didn't think Yoongi could be a soldier or not, but because he didn't want an Omega to come onto him. His Minnie might be lost, but as long as his Omega was alive, he'd never let another one close to him.

When he approached the Omega, he hissed, sword drawn up high to keep the Alpha away, "Look, if you are here to get your knot wet, I suggest you move the fuck on."

Jungkook knew then that they could be friends: "I have an Omega, my soulmate. He was taken from me. I joined so I could get strong enough to get him back." After that, they were fast friends. Yoongi felt comfortable enough to be around the Alpha, and he loved the goofy Beta that was always with them. They trained together, moving fast through the ranks until the day they helped save the future King. After that, they were officially royal guards.

"Are you even listening to anything I'm saying, Jungkook? I mean the audacity, I'm your General, for fucks sake, and you are daydreaming." Seokjin was in the middle of a rant, and from experience, if he didn't stop it, he'd be there for at least an hour listening to him yell.

Jungkook blinked his eyes and gave him his cutest bunny smile: "I'm sorry. You know how I get lost in my head sometimes."

A soft frown took over Jin's face, "I'm sorry. Were you thinking about Minnie again? It's been 10 years, right?"

"Yeah, last week was a full decade without my soulmate."

Jin clapped his hand over the younger Alpha's shoulder, "you'll find him. I have faith you will. Maybe you'll find him on this mission."

That perked Jungkook up a bit, "oh, really?"

"I'll let Hobi tell you."

They were seated around a table, and Hobi looked haggard. "Our spies in the North got back to us."

Jin groaned, "I still can't believe you let my idiot brother and Yoongi go; you know they have zero common sense when you put those two together."

Everyone snickered because it was true: Those two were two halves of a whole idiot. You never know which one was in charge of their shared brain cells. "Well, they volunteered, and there are only so many people I trust with something like this."

"So what did Dumb and Dumber say?"

"The Queen was seen on the balcony three days ago."

Jungkook sat up a bit. "No one has seen her in almost a year; we assumed she was pregnant and kept her safe. Did she give birth?"

Hobi shook his head, "Yoongi said there was no way that she just gave birth; some Omega sense they have. I didn't question it, but he brought her out because they will war with us again."

He gasped, smacking his hand over his mouth quickly. " This isn't good," he mumbled behind his palm.

"It's not, so I need this from you two." Hobi took a deep breath. He didn't want to do or resort to this, but he had no choice. That insane King had already killed his parents and would have killed him if it wasn't for his five courageous, slightly crazy soldiers. "I need you to kill the King and Queen; you can leave any heirs alive if you want since I'm not totally for killing children. But last I heard, the King was infertile anyway, so odds are he doesn't have any."
