Barry was a new intern scientist that worked for Black Mesa. He was present during the experiment with Dr. freeman and was caught in the middle of the Resonance Cascade instead of killing him, or just teleporting him, he ended up being transformed into Barnick. He was still capable of understanding people and even a little bit of speech but has to speak through his Barnacle hand. He can also spit acid and grab people with his Barnacle tongue and even eat them except their bones, he just vomits them out. He escaped the laboratory along with Freeman. He sorta blames Freeman for what has happened to him but mostly blames Black Mesa.
Barnick's skin is incredibly tough against any bullets and rocks can only knock him down. He's really resistant to fire but weak against cold. He was probably 39 at the time of the Resonance Cascade. Before he was transformed, he was rather serious about his job only goofs around during breaks. But after being transformed into a monster, he became increasingly aggressive and angry. He still retains his sanity of his human self but soon he'll need to take medication to keep him from losing himself.
