That girl. She was one of us! She was an Avian Hybrid. Why didn't Max save her? Surely if she knew that she was there she would have. I bit down on my nails and head back to the room where Max was. I peeked my head into the room and see Fang and her talking quietly. "Max?"I asked in a soft voice. She turned and walked over to me in her long confident stride. "What's up Nudge?"She asked bending down to my level.
"There's another one." I said. She brushed her blonde hair behind her ear and looked at me straight in the eye.
"What?" She asked her voice rising slightly. She turned and motioned for Fang to come over. "What did you see Nudge?" "It was a girl. An avian hybrid. Just like us. They did things to her and I..." I buried my face in Max's shoulder. She put a hand on my back and held me as the sobs racked my body.
I could feel her head turn and knew that she was looking at Fang.
