*Junior Year*

"Yooooo!" Jason hollers as he approaches his friends' table during lunch.

"Yerrrrrrr!" they all reply.

Clara and Jamie sit in the far corner of the table, secretly talking about Jamie's crush on Kyle.

"Kyle?? Really Jamie?"

"He's cuteeeee. He's like a big fluffy teddy bear," Jamie says, pleading her case as she take a sip of her milk.

Jason goes directly to sit next to Clara and scares the two girls.

"HUYYYY!" he yells as he slaps the table, causing Jamie to spit out her milk.

"JASON!!! STOP!!!" they both exclaim.

"Hehehe what're you two talking about? Y'all look serious."

"Nothing nothing," Jamie says with eyes wide.

Jason sits with a puzzled look on his face.

"Uhm. Okay?" he says confused.

Jason by this time has won three straight State Championships, getting more and more offers from Division 1 universities. But at this point in his junior year, since, football season ended, his dad has encouraged him to explore his musical talent more.

*1 month ago*

Jason is walking back to his English class from the bathroom. He passes by this classroom in which he hears Deftones playing. He loves Deftones. Secretly. His football teammates would tear him apart and poke fun if they ever found out he listens to Metal. He peeps into the classroom and sees three students sitting down on tables, one with a guitar, one with a bass, one with drumsticks. The one with a guitar has a pen and a notebook on his lap. He closes his eyes and taps his head with the pen, appearing as though he's thinking very hard. The one with the drumsticks sees Jason peering through the window. Jason sees him and begins walking away. The guy with drumsticks runs towards the door and opens it.

"Hey!" he says.

Jason turns around. "Hey!"

"Can I help you?" he asks holding the door open with one foot.

Jason walks back towards the guy with the drumsticks.

"Oh no no. I was just passing by and noticed you were playing Deftones through the speakers. I really like Deftones."

"Oh! Cool!  Yeah we're just in here for free period. Ms. Jones let us use her classroom cuz she has lunch right now. We're just trying to write a song."

"Oh so y'all are in a band?"

"Yeah yeah. My name's Tommy by the way."

"Jason," he says as extends his hand to Tommy.

"I know who you are, Cap."

Jason's nickname around school is Cap since he's the captain of the football team.

Jason laughs.

"You said you listen to Deftones?"

"Yeah, love Deftones."

"You play any instruments?"

"Oh you know, guitar, drums, bass, piano."

"Dude, would've never expected. You sing?"

"Yeah I actually do hahaha."

"Dang dude. Cap sings," he says while looking back at his band mates surprised.
