~NOVEMBER 2~

Sam starts school today, fun. The school said I should bring them in early so they can get a tour of the place with another student. I just finished my shower and now I'm sitting on the couch while Sam is getting ready.

Sam yawned from behind me. I jumped a little at the sudden noise. They laughed a little and set their backpack next to me. It was, if I remember, their dad's military backpack. A few of the pins that they had were in one of the straps.

They flopped down next to me and slid into their boots. They stared at their untied laces, then gave me their puppy eyes.

"Do you need help?"

They slowly nodded then looked back down. I took one foot and instructed them how to tie their shoes. They tried to tie the other one but failed, twice, I then helped them out.

Before we left I took a photo of Sam. With their consent, of course. I felt like one of the Facebook moms.

We pulled up to the large parking space for the middle school. Sam let out a loud  sigh. I got out of the truck, then Sam did. As we were walking to the entrance Sam held onto my hand. The door unlocked and we walked right into the office.

"Oh, hello!" The lady at the desk said. "You must be the new student. I'm Miss. Reynolds, the secretary."

I gave her my hand and she shook it. "Well then, I'm Jared."

Miss Reynolds cleared her throat and went through a small stack of paper. She handed Sam a sheet of paper with a key on it.

"Here's your schedule, your locker number is also on it, with your key. Your  friend will be here shortly to show you around." She turned to me then went on her computer. "I've notified her-their teachers about their speech issue. So they understand the problem."

I nodded. "Okay, thank you."

Just then a man walked in. His eyes were two colors, one green and the other brown. He was also a bit shorter than Jensen, at least.

"Ah," He took my hand and shook it. "You must be Mr. Padalecki. I'm the school counselor, Bryan Day."

"Hello, nice to meet you."

"You too. And you," He turned to Sam. "Welcome to Ellwood Middle."

Sam acwardly nodded, then the counselor left. I figured this was the time I should leave, so gently grabbed Sam's jaw and made them look up to me.

"Buddy, I got to go now. I'll pick you up later. Be good."

They went in for a hug and I gave them one, with a kiss to their head.

~SAMS POV~

Jared left after our hug. I sighed and took a seat on the bench infront of the secretary desk. Nothing really happened, only Mr. Day walking past to get coffee and the clacking of the keyboard from Miss. Reynolds.
