Expect Nothing but Appreciate Everything

17 epilog

The following morning Jane had cold pizza for breakfast while we had omelets before we head to practice  at the Arco arena.
We had both teams do drug tests which helped their team because they normally use the labs they are familiar with.  The coaches decided to have them practice together only in a fun game nothing outrageous or strenuous because both teams especially the youngsters were feeling old today. We got to meet some of their family and we suggested if they wanted some Italian food besides pizza to go to Rony's place,southern cooking to Halle's place , Southern Fixins' and if they wanted a variety of Latin food and beyond to go to Juanita's  and if they wanted to relax and have some fun for singing to go to Chris restaurant blazers bar. We told to ask for the owners except for Rony's place we would tell them players and their family may go there. All of the eating places including Sienna pizzeria agreed to give them 35% off their total of their bill.  Some of them wanted to play poker and bowl. We mentioned we play poker and other games including bowling at our buddies home.  Several of their children wanted to bowl so Maura called Amal and Amal agreed to open her home for the kids with families. They agreed they would BBQ for an early dinner too. The players would bring the food even though Amal told Maura it wasn't necessary.  We finished playing the game with players intermixed on the team  Everyone enjoyed themselves. Some of the players went with us to Vincent korsak children's shelter to visit them and at the teen foster home that my wife and I started a few years ago.

Maura  and Jane were getting texts and mentions in tweets and on tik tok but without showing the youths faces the fun our city was showing them.We were glad everyone was hospitable and the community was benefitting from them being here longer than they had anticipated to be. We all were beat had dinner and went to bed early.

The following morning Jane made us breakfast burritos with orange juice and decaffeinated expressos.

Babe their team doctor let me know  they all came back clean and so did you gals.

Our game four is at three doc. If we win today , we are the champions. If not we will have one more game to determine it. You have 2 wins so far and they have one.

They all headed to the arena and my entire family, friends and friends from Italy were here for today's game to surprise me and they did.

The buzzer went off and both teams played hard. The game went by quickly.  The final score was 98 to 48 and the Sacramento Queens were the champions for the WNBA.  Karen Thompson won the MVP.

SEVERAL WEEKS WENT BY AND THEY WERE GIVEN THEIR RINGS.

Shaq made announcement that  he was changing the name back Monarchs . We all went home exhausted and happy for Jane.

The following year Jane Rizzoli did well and she coached a winning Championship team.

Jane enjoyed her season but decided to retire and enjoy retirement with her wife Dr.Maura Rozoli Isles and Lisa  Marcos who decided to get her law degree. Maura retired as the team coach and Lisa became am assistant district attorney. Jane went back to being an international attorney and Maura opened a clinic.
