Chapter 3: Testing Chrome

3rd POV

"You'll be staying with your Aunt Dorio for a while. You need it to get used to the Edgerunner life." Raiden said.

Drop-Plop!

"Really?!" Y/n was casually eating his cereal. He slammed his hands down when he heard that he was staying with Dorio.

"But you'll have to go to school only for today." He pointed out.

"It's a deal, pops!"

Y/n quickly ran to his room to get changed. He quickly put on his uniform and ran to the station. He saw David in the train, so he slowly walked up to him and smacked his shoulder.

"What's up, choom?"

"Agh! Not Nova, Y/n... You almost flatlined me." David held his hand to his chest.

"You leaving the school?" Y/n looked at David's outfit.

"Yeah, school does not suit me. I'm gonna go find some work or something."

"I'll help you out! Pops said that I only need to go to school today, after that I can drop out."

"You really are a choom, choom." David grinned.

Their chips suddenly flew out. The scene turned into a half-green and half-blue hue, both of them made afterimages. Y/n grabbed the chips, while David grabbed the woman by the wrist. The woman shook it off and grabbed David by the hand, while she grabbed Y/n's collar.

"Come on." She said

They walked to the end of the car. She released both of them and glared at them.

"What's your angle? You looking to disrupt my work?"

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're a pig socket."

"What are you gonna do, put cuffs on me?"

"Sigh, I can't believe you're a thief."

The woman placed both of her hands on the sides of his head and slowly caressed it down his chest. David was blushing and Y/n deadpanned. Suddenly she slammed David into the wall and wrapped monowire around his throat.

"Listen here whether you like it or not, you are going to help me."

David looked at Y/n for help. Y/n turned his head looked at his watch.

"Whahahaha.... Here's my stop, seeya." Y/n left and went to Arasaka Academy.

"You bastard!" David shouted.

'I'm sorry, but you caught the attention of a femme fatale...' Y/n thought while shedding a tear of pity.

Y/n was sitting on a bench inside the courtyard of the academy, when a red-haired girl hugged his back.

"I haven't seen you for a long time, Mon amour~" The red-haired girl said.

"Oh, Marie! It wasn't on purpose,  I was busy with stuff and I didn't have time to hang out with you." Y/n explained.

She looked at him like a kicked puppy. Y/n rummaged through his hub before sending to her's

"I was actually planning that. I got us a reservation in that cafe you like." Y/n showed her a digital paper slip.

Marie looked at Y/n in surprise, before hugging him. He heard sniffles from her before hugging her tightly.
