When Lillian finally found me at my dorm, I was still lying on my bed staring at the ceiling.
"Hey, you're back so soon," she said when she spotted me. I glanced at her and then back up.
"Yeah. I got a headache so I came back early."
"You okay now?"
I didn't say anything for a bit. Then I nodded and rolled over to my side, away from her curious look. I guess she took that as a hint and went into the bathroom.
Okay? I don't think so. Actually, I felt like I was going to throw up. I slid my hand over my neck again. There was nothing--no scar, no bite. I was pretty sure it was bitten though, by Alec himself.
All the memories had come rushing back. My encounter with those vampires. Did I have my mind erased? I wasn't so sure considering I could suddenly remember everything. I remembered the pain all too well when Alec pierced his fangs into me. I could remember the blood sliding down my throat, and I blushed at the memory of how it went down.
I groaned in frustration. What am I suppose to do? I can't go to the principal. He was part of it. Well, I'm confident he is at least. Who else knew about these creatures? So many questions. No answers.
And the main question I have in my head. Would they kill me if they knew I knew? It seemed their mind erasing hadn't worked.
Lillian came out of the bathroom and jumped on her bed, relaxing comfortably.
"You look annoyed. What's wrong?"
"I'm just thinking," I said.
"About what?"
"...Do you think there are supernatural beings that exist in this world?"
"Silly. Who knows? That’s kind of random," she laughed and unwrapped a lollipop. Where did she even get those from anyway?
"I mean...would you believe they exist?"
"Hm. Maybe. Are you talking about people like The Cullens or the wolf pack from Twilight?"
I couldn't help it. I laughed. She was so close. "Never mind."
I wasn't laughing in the next second though. I had an odd thought. If Alec and Kale both were vampires...did that make the whole Student Council vampires? I paled at the thought. There were like 20 council members? At least that was what I was able to pick up from random student conversations. It was highly likely. No wonder they were so beautiful. I wondered if they had drunk the blood of any other students. Highly likely too, I considered, thinking back to Kale.
I needed some air. Climbing up from the bed, I headed out. Lillian continued to suck on her lollipop and write on her laptop giving me a small wave as I left.
I walked slowly around the huge estate. It was like a maze that seemed to go on and on. I was so shrouded in my thoughts that didn't notice the figure standing in front of me. I bumped into the person.
"Oh, sorry," I apologized and looked up to find a guy with very dollish features smiling at me. I stared in shock at his bright silver hair. I distinctly wondered if it was his real hair color. He didn't have the school uniform on so I assumed he wasn't a student here.
"Oh, it's fine. Excuse me," he said gracefully as he walked by. I continued on my way, lost in my train of thoughts again.
After momentarily spaced out, I paled slightly when I saw Kale, Fynn, and the girl--Isabelle up ahead chatting. I stopped walking immediately. My brain was in overdrive. Okay. Walk past and act like they don't exist or walk by and act happy and clueless? No, no. Gotta act natural. Natural? What's natural? Waving should do it. Okay yeah. Walk by, wave, and smile. Wait, do people usually scream when they pass them? My head was a mess of thoughts.
