Northstar was just heartbroken. Her brother betrayed their family, and Zan'ka almost killed Nova. Ta'kar paced around, as if he was thinking of a plan to get back at them. Northstar glued many leaves together with tree sap, and put it on the scarred eye. "I'm so, so sorry, Nova." She apologized softly. "Northstar, what are we gonna do?" Ta'kar asked, his tail fluffing up in fear.

Northstar didn't speak again. Her words just abandoned her. She looked down at the sleeping horse, her face covered in leaves. Ta'kar rubbed his head against Northstar, trying to comfort her. "Everything's gonna be OK, Northstar. I'm sure." He whispered, laying down on Northstar's hooves. She wanted everything to be OK. Heck, she even wanted to go back to her boring herd.

Before she knew it, she layed her head on Nova's wing and passed right out like a light.

The next morning, Northstar heard bird's chirping, the rustling sound of a critters feet crawling on the grass. She knew those sounds more than anyone. They made her calm, and relaxed. "N-Northstar..?" A voice mumbled. Northstar looked down to see Nova waking up, her cheeks tainted a dark-ish pink. She remembered what happened yesterday, with Zan'ka and.. Shadow.

She then saw Nova's face, her beautiful face covered with leaves. Northstar remembered her foal days, when her father was still with her and her family. They used to play together, fly together. But all that changed. It changed when Kator, Northstar's father, got really mad. He took it out on Queen Yater, when she was still alive. When he was finished with his wife, her turned to his two children. He started stomping towards Shadow, his eyes filled with rage, and his teeth turned sharp.

Kator pounced at Shadow, but Northstar flew in front of her brother, protecting him, and taking the damage. She yelped out when their father scarred her eye, causing it to bleed. "Northstar!!" Yater shrieked, pushing her husband out of the way and flying towards her bleeding foal. "M-Mother.." was the last thing Northstar said before passing out.

When she awoke, she was in a leaf bed, with her aunts, uncles, her big brother and her mother. But, she could only see half of the room. "Northstar, my sweet baby. I'm so sorry." Queen Yater almost cried, blinking hard to keep her tears in. "Mother? W-what happened? Where's F-Father?" Northstar stammered, her eye burning with pain. She gave out a yelp, scaring everyone around her.

"Northstar, your father.. he-he ran away," Northstar's aunt, Kasher explained, pulling her in for a hug with her wings. "He.. he scarred you. And.. blinded you."

"Northstar! Northstar!! Northstar, wake up!"

Northstar woke up, not knowing that she passed out again. "N-Nova?" She stammered, looking up at the brown pegasus. "Northstar.. are you ok?" She eyed Northstar's scar on her eye, causing the black horse to hide it with her wing. "Northstar, please tell me what happened." Nova pleaded, brushing her head on Northstar's neck. Northstar didn't really want to tell her, knowing that she was the one who might have blinded her crush.

After a moment, Ta'kar joined in on the cuddles. "Are you OK, Northstar?" He asked, slightly whimpering. Northstar smiled at the both of them, her face a blushy mess when she looked straight into Nova's lime-green eyes. "I.. alright. I'll tell you two." Northstar finally said, uncovering her eye.

After a few moments of explaining what happened with her and her Father, and her scar, the two were in shock. "Why was he angry?" Nova blurted, her wings fluffing up in surprise. "I honestly don't know. One day, he just got angry, and took it out on us."

"I-is your eye ok?" Northstar said worried, changing the subject. Nova looked nervous, looking at her leaves. "I'm n-not sure." She admitted. Northstar gave the scared pegasus a small smile, letting her know it was OK. "Can I t-take it off?" She asked with a heatness rising in her cheeks. Nova nodded. Northstar rubbed the glued-on leaves before taking it off slowly.

On her face was small scars, just as small as a fat mouse. It was clear to see, but it wouldn't stay on too long. "I-is it b-bad?" The brown pegasus stuttered, closing her eyes tightly. Northstar pulled her in, their chests touching against each other, their hearts beating at the same time. Northstar felt the fear in Nova's body. She wrapped her around with her wings, cuddling her like a little foal.

"It's not bad, Nova. It won't stay forever, I promise," Northstar finally whispered, comforting the small pegasus. Nova just cried into Northstar's chest. Ta'kar snuggled up with the two. Just then, Northstar heard flapping noises, and hooves pounding the grass.

"Northstar, you are under arrest."
