~Chapter Three~

Northstar flew out of her mother's room, throwing air in every-horse's faces. "Northstar, where are you going?" Kasher neighed out, spreading her wings to chase her niece, only to be stopped by Netver. The black pegasus shook his head. I have to find him, Northstar thought. She jolted out of the room, shocking her brother, Shadow.

Have to see where he is. Just then, a dark brown pegasus blocked her path, making them collide. "S-so sorry!" Northstar huffed, out of breath. She studied the brown pegasus, looking deep into her lime-green eyes. She shook her head to get out of her trance. "I'm N-Northstar," She began, pointing at the landing road with her eyes. Northstar flew down, saving some room for the brown pegasus.

The stranger cleared her throat. "My name is Nova. And you said you were.. Northstar?" Northstar nodded. She didn't know what else to say. Her heart was beating faster than it was when she saw her mother dead, or when she flew so fast. The black pegasus felt her cheeks warm up a bit, but she didn't know why. Why was she feeling these things? 

"W-well," Northstar stammered, backing away from Nova. "I s-should get going. Uhh, b-bye!" She waved her wing before flying again. At first, she stumbled a bit, but got her balance back. She shook her head, trying to get rid of the brown pegasus from her mind, but failed miserably. She didn't know what to do. "Oh no," She said to herself. 

She flew down, folding her wings in to go faster. When she got closer to the ground, she spread her wings so that she wouldn't crash. Northstar heard a ruffling sound, scaring the black pegasus. "W-who's there?" She said nervously, half-folding her wings. She saw a white snout poke out of the leaves. Then, a whole wolf head. "Ta'kar!" Northstar neighed happily, trotting up to the wolf. 

"Hey, Northstar!" Ta'kar said, getting out from the bushes and shaking the leaves off. Northstar tried to keep her laughter in when she saw the fluffy Ta'kar. He rolled his eyes and relaxed a bit, his fur flattening. "So, what happened up there? I heard a faint wailing noise?" Ta'kar asked, pointing up to the Air Kingdom with his snout. "Um.. well. My mother, the, the queen.." Northstar couldn't speak. She was just too heartbroken. She took a deep breath and tried again.

"Ta'kar, my mother got killed." Ta'kar's eyes widened. "Waitwaitwait, Queen Yater? The queen of the pegasi, was YOUR mother, and got killed?" Northstar nodded, her eyes almost watering again. "So, you're a prin-" The wolf got cut off when Northstar put her wing over his mouth, telling him to stop. "Please don't say that. If you do, everyone else is gonna realize, and then.. I may be ending up like my mother." 

"Alright, alright, I won't say." Ta'kar put one of his paw fingers up to his lips. Northstar closed her eyes and nodded, putting her wing down. "So, what now?" The male wolf asked. The pegasus shook her head, remembering her mini-mission. "What was that other wolfs name? The one you were arguing about?" She blurted, trying hard not to flutter her wings again. "Oh, Zan'ka?" Ta'kar answered. "Yeah, him! Does he have any way of getting to the Air Kingdom?" Northstar asked. 

"Well, I don't know specifically, but I once saw him with a.. how do you call yourself?" Ta'kar said nervously. "Pegasus," Northstar answered for him. "Yeah, pegasus. I saw him with a pegasus once, and I think they were working.. together?" 

Oh no. If a pegasus and a wolf are working together, then..

Northstar needed to figure out who the pegasus was.
