MONDAY
I dreaded this week every year. My birthday week. October 9th always felt like a reminder of all the forced frills of the upper east side. Every year since I was 6 my mother had thrown me some extravagant party that I had always hated attending. Even to this day, I was still expected to attend and show face as the daughter of Burt Burket.
This year wasn't any different other than I would have more than just Chester as moral support, well if they were free. I avoided this week and day so much I had waited until the last minute to invite everyone. I pulled out my phone and started a group text with everyone.
L: Hey friends. I know this is last minute, but I truly dread birthdays and just simply forgot, my mother is throwing me a birthday party on Friday at her home, if you all wish to join. It's obviously not a Niall party but there is unlimited champagne. :)
A few minutes after sending it my phone began ringing, it was Harry.
"Hello?"
"So you weren't going to even bother to mention that your birthday was this month?"
"I mean, I don't know your birthday." I said teasingly.
"February 1st, besides the point."
"I just really hate birthdays Harry. I don't see the point in making a fuss about it."
"Baby, you are worth a fuss being made." I could hear his smile through the phone.
"I just don't normally make it a big deal, okay?"
"Okay, well, the group chat is currently saying otherwise."
I removed my phone from my ear, opening up the group chat.
N: DOWN, party with the Burkettttsss
L: YOUR BIRTHDAY?! Harry, why didn't you say anything?
C: She probably didn't tell him. She hates her birthday.
T: who hates bdays?
Z: beer pong girl obviously.
Chelsea: I love picking out presents.
I groaned and put the phone back to my ear, "Shoot me now."
Harry laughed, "Hey, we will make it fun okay?"
I signed, "Okay."
"Did you finish all your work today, I missed you this morning."
"I missed you too. And yeah, I wasn't as behind as I thought, and also I dropped my lungs class. My advisor suggested it, and so I figured why not."
"Hmm, perfect, more time for me."
"Harry Styles, you've been rather needy lately."
"I know, like I said, I don't know what you are doing to me."
"Can I ask you something babe?" I bit my lower lip softly,
"Yeah, of course."
"You aren't going to get tired of me right?" I said softly.
"What do you mean?"
I took a deep breath, "It's just, Liza said you move on quick, I just, I don't want....I like you a lot Harry."
"Baby, I'm not going anywhere. I literally had to keep myself busy tonight so I wouldn't show up at your loft," he chuckled softly, "Look, I used to get bored easily okay? But not with you. I can't get enough of you."
"Okay." I smiled stupidly at my notebook, drawing tiny hearts in the borders like a teenager.
