Haunted castle

Chapter 2

Sonic stepped out of his hut. He took a deep breath of the humid air. and smiled.

He then took off in a blue blur. Recklessly running towards his destination.

Sonic was close to the fog. And boy, it was thick. You could barely see the trees. He noticed a light source at the fog line. Most likely the others with flashlights.

Once he got there. Everyone was there. Cream and Cheese were beside Amy. Tails was putting batteries in Knuckles flashlight. Silver was checking the different settings of his flashlight. And Shadow and Rouge were standing beside each other.

Tails finished putting the batteries in Knuckles flashlight. "And don't waste the battery again before we enter" Knuckles nodded. And walked off

Tails looked over at Sonic. "There you are! I brought an extra flashlight for you" Tails grabbed a flashlight from his fictional pocket. And gave it to the blue hedgehog. "Thanks bud!" Sonic smiled. He flashed the flashlight to see if it worked. and turned it back off.

"We should get going. The rain is ruining my makeup." Rouge shook her wings. and used them for protection from the rain.

"Oh, you poor thing" Shadow said sarcastically. "Do you know how expensive this stuff is?!" Rouge yelled. Shadow rolled his eyes. "Enough for you to steal it". Rouge scoffed. and crossed her arms.

"You're right Rouge. We'll head in. And look for the castle. If we have enough time. We could go inside." Sonic put his hands on his hips. "But Mr. Sonic. What if someone lives there" Cream stepped up. With Cheese in her arms. Knuckles nodded. "She's right. We can't just break into a castle in the middle of nowhere."

"Okay, Okay. We'll knock and see who answers. If nobody does. We'll go in"

"Even if it is abandoned. What if there are traps. Or ghosts." Silver shivered at the thought. Rouge put her hand on Silvers should. "Silver, Darling. Everyone knows ghosts are real".

"They actually are real." Shadow mumbled. "Shadow. You read too many paranormal shows." Rouge smirked.

"I wouldn't say that Rouge. I've seen ghosts before" Sonic crossed his arms. "mhm sure" Rouge replied sarcastically.

"Can we please hurry! It's scary enough out here. And the rain is cold!" Amy whined. "Alright, Alright! Everyone got their flashlights?" Sonic pulled out his flashlight. Everyone did the same. "Let's go then!" Sonic went in the fog first. Everyone else following after him.

"Hey Tails! I think you weather recorder thingy might've been wrong about the weather!" Sonic yelled. Covering his face with his free hand.

"Oh! Well, I'm sorry! I just recently created it!" Tails replied sarcastically.

It was raining harder than before. The wind whistled through the trees.

Amy walked closer to Sonic. "Sonic! I think we should go back!"

"No, No-Wait! I see something in the distance!" Sonic pointed towards a faint light source through the fog.

"Maybe It's Shelter!" Rouge replied. "Well let's get going!" Sonic looked back at the group. He ran towards the light source. Everyone else followed not far behind him.

While Sonic was running. He noticed the fog getting clearer. And the rain getting softer.

Sonic skidded to a stop. And stared up in awe.

There was the castle the rumors talked about. On the top. a giant hole was over the tall building. Stars glittered in the sky.

Sonic's amazement changed when he looked down. A dead land surrounded the castle. Dead trees, dead bushes, dead grass, dead everything. Dead roots crawled on the castle walls and yard.

The rest of the group came by not long after. Rouge gasped. "Oh Chaos! This place looks horrid". "At least we found the castle." Knuckles mumbled. Tails put his hand on his chin. "How is this possible? This possibly can't be the eye of the storm..."

"Well? What are we waiting for. Let's go in!" Amy took a step. But Shadow grabbed her shoulder. "It's pretty obvious that someone lives there" He gestured to the light coming through the windows. "Let's hope they're nice and will let us stay the night" Sonic turned off his flashlight. and put it in quills. "Wait. What do you mean 'Stay the night'.?" Silver asked. "Do you plan on going back now?" Sonic raised an eyebrow. Silver opened his mouth to reply. but closed it.

"So...We're going in?" Cream piped up. "That depends, Cream" Amy looked down at her. Smiling.

"Well let's hurry" Sonic walked towards a massive door. Thinking it was the entrance. Everyone followed. Taking glances at the dead area around them.

Sonic knocked on the door with a quick little rhythm.

Sonic knocked again

"well that's a bummer" he mumbled

Sonic was about to knock again. But heard the door beginning to open.
Sonic took a few steps back to avoid being hit by the large door.

A heterochrominia eyed jackal opened the door. One blue, one gold. He had black fur. White, messy hair. And a white tail tip. He wore a black tuxedo. With black gloves.

The jackal smiled. And bowed his head slightly. "Greetings. We've been expecting you" he moved out of the way. To let the group inside.

Everyone except Shadow entered the castle. Sonic looked back at him. "what's wrong, Shads?"

Shadow was glaring at the jackal. He crossed his arms. And growled. "I'm not going in"

Sonic sighed. He grabbed Shadows arm. And dragged him inside.

The jackal closed the door, and locked it. He turned back to the group.

"welcome. I am Zero. A servant of this castle" he bowed. "it is a pleasure meeting you all"
