"Use quick attack!" Shouted Ash, as his yellow friend used the attack and struck a wild Weedle. He goes to retrieve a pokeball but he was suddenly interrupted by a yell and a sword being brought down in front of his face.
Asuka screams in worry as Ash is backed up by the random, cringey Samurai the held the blade to his face.
"What the, why would you do that?" Questioned Ash.
"Are you the fourth trainer from Pallet?"
"Sure, why?"
"Perfect. I'm Sammy the Samurai. I challenge you to a battle."
"Sure but I was-" By the time Ash turned around the Weedle was gone. He sighed and turned back around to battle with Sammy, since he had nothing better to do anymore.
"Go, Pinsir!"
"Pidgeotto, I choose you!"
The pokemon come out and face each other, before Ash takes out his pokedex to scan the pokemon owned by his opponent.
Pinsir, the stag beetle pokemon. A bug type. Pinsir uses its huge horns to chop down trees and drink the sap from them.
"A bug type, huh? Then we have the advantage! Use gust!"
Pidgeotto flaps its wings and produces a blast of wind at Pinsir.
"Pinsir, x-scissor!"
The bug type charges forward regardless of the strong winds and strikes the bird pokemon.
"Pidgeotto, get back up and use quick attack!"
Pidgeotto followed its trainers orders and Sammy simply smiled.
"Pinsir, counter with a bind attack!"
Pinsir grabs Pidgeotto and squeezes it.
"Oh no, Pidgeotto!"
"Finish it with x-scissor!"
Pinsir's horns started glowing to signify it using the attack, causing Pidgeotto to give out a cry before falling to the ground, fainted.
Ash returned Pidgeotto and brought out another pokeball.
"Can't let my guard down. This is a risky play, but I have to have faith! Go, Metapod!"
"Huh, what, why?" Asked a very confused Asuka.
"You blundered, trainer 4! Use bind!"
"Harden!"
Pinsir grabs Metapod and squeezes it, but Metapod raises its defense to take the attack until it was dropped.
"Tackle it!"
Metapod headbutts Pinsir and knocks it out.
"Impressive, it seems that Pidgeotto did more damage than I originally thought. But now you have to deal with my second pokemon! Go Metapod!"
Another Metapod comes out onto the field. Then a hard-fought hour-long battle ensues between the two trainers until Asuka screams in frustration at the boring battle.
"This is really boring, let's just end it already!" Asuka complains.
"You made a serious blunder! Now a horde of Beedrill is liable to appear!"
As if on cue, a group of about 20-30 Beedrill pop out of the forest.
One Beedrill in front, seemingly the leader, charges towards the group.
"Pikachu, thunderbolt!"
The bolt of electricity shocked the Beedrill to halt its progress.
"Go, pokeball!" Ash shouts as he chucks a pokeball at the weak Beedrill, sucking it in and successfully capturing it.
He picks up the ball and his Metapod as they all start running towards Sammy's cabin. They are running until Ash trips and drops Metapod. A Beedrill attempts to pick it up, but Ash tries taking it back. The Beedrill attempts to sting Ash, but Metapod sees this and strains... before glowing a bright blue signaling its evolution.
It's shell cracks open and a Butterfree emerges from it and takes to the air.
"Woah..." Whispered both Ash and Asuka in awe of the beautiful butterfly pokemon.
Butterfree, the butterfly pokemon. A bug and flying type. A Butterfree's wings is coated in a water-repellent powder, so it can fly in heavy rainfall with no issues.
"You've learned new moves, huh? Let's try one out! Use sleep powder!"
Butterfree flies around and releases a blue, shiny powder from it's wings that instantly puts all of the Beedrill to sleep.
"Now, let's escape quietly so we don't disturb them!" Exclaimed Sammy quietly as the skedadle towards the edge of the forest.
They reach the end of the forest and the path towards Pewter City, where they prepare to depart with their new "friend."
"I must return to the forest, I had judged you earlier but now I see different. Do not fall too far behind your cohorts, Ash"
"Thanks, Sammy. We'll meet again some day"
They shake hands and Ash and Asuka depart, almost to their destination and the first gym battle of their Kanto journey.
