"Alright, Pikachu, we're finally here!" Exclaimed Ash excitedly.
"If you didn't spend the whole day yesterday training, we would've been here sooner, ya know." Asuka sighed.
"I know, but I needed to perfect my secret weapon." Ash declared.
"You haven't even told me what it is yet!"
Ash winks, "You'll just have to find out!"
Asuka's cheeks are suddenly brushed with a hint of red.
"Fiiiiiiiiiiine."
They continue looking for the gym as some adult man stops them.
"You kids look lost. Do you need any help?" The man offered.
"Sure, we're looking for the gym!" Ash exclaims.
The man looks surprised for a second before saying,
"Names Flint, follow me."
He leads them to the gym. They reach it and stop. Flint turns to them.
"I got one question for you kids... what would you do if you knew someone you cared about was hurting but couldn't face nor help them?" He mysteriously asked.
Asuka looked at him, wondering why he'd ask kids that kind of question until Ash broke the silence.
"Well, I'd put aside my worries and help them. Because no matter what, I can't just leave someone I care about to hurt all alone. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a gym badge to earn!"
Ash bolts towards the gym entrance, turning around to give a quick "Thank you!" to Flint as he did. Asuka runs after him, and they both enter the gym.
Directly in front of them was a large battlefield dotted with rocks and boulders. On the other side of the room sat a guy looking to be 15 in age. He stood up and looked towards Ash.
Ash decided to speak up, "Uhm, I'm here to challenge the Pewter City gym leader, Brock. Is that you?"
"Yes, that would be me. And you are?" Brock responded.
"Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!"
"How many badges do you currently have?"
"Well, none yet..."
Brock nods and takes out a poke ball.
"Alright then, this will be a two on two match. Here is my first pokemon. Go, Geodude!"
Brock's first pokemon appears to be a floating rock with arms and a face, confusing Asuka and prompting Ash to retrieve Dexter.
Geodude, the Rock Pokemon. A rock and ground type. Geodude often lives in groups. They are easily agitated when stepped on, as it is a common occurrence for them.
Ash smiles confidently, "Right, I remember reading about you being a rock-type specialist. I had to train my pokemon a ton to prepare for this match. So, let's get going! Butterfree, I choose you!"
Ash sends out the butterfly pokemon and faces down his opponent in anticipation. Finally, Brock makes the first move.
"Geodude, use Rock Tomb!"
"Confusion attack!"
Geodude lobs about 5 large rocks at Butterfree, who in tuns unleashes a psychic force to retain the rocks midair before hurling them back.
"Rollout, go!" Brock exclaims as the rock pokemon curls into a ball and starts rolling towards butterfree, breaking the rocks from his own attack while doing so.
