You liked Kamala's video and turned your phone off as you arrived to the school. You parked your bike next to Bruno's and entered the school as he handed you a slushie.

You both reached Kamala who was looking kinda bored.

"Rough morning all around" said Bruno handing her a slushie "Had a bet you were gonna pass, now I'm out 10 bucks"

"I told my mom to stop texting you guys," complained Kamala

"It's fine" you said "Plenty of people fail their driver's test. Instructors focus on the tiniest things."

"I crashed my car into his car"

"Oh, yeah" you said "that's on you. uh..."

"So I guess we're not going to AvengerCon" said Bruno

" No, no, no, Bruno. A cosplay competition for Carol Danvers at the greatest fan event of the year. My costume is near perfect, pending the final flourish." she said excited

"Still trying to think of that flourish?"

"It'll come to me any second now"

"Sure it will" you said.

"Got any plans this weekend?" asked Nakia, who just arrived

"As of this morning, we're all free." said Bruno

"No."

"Are you inviting me to play Smash Bros?"

"Because if so, I'm busy."

"Don't hate the player, hate the game."

"The thing is I do hate the game, though."

You all stopped talking when Kamala bumped into Zoe, making her spill her cup. You watched Kamala as she frantically apologized.

She's so cute , you thought

You started climbing the stairs when they finished the awkward conversation

"Would it be super weird if we asked her for a ride to AvengerCon?" asked Kamala

" Yes." the three of you answered

" Why?"

"Her mom used to drive us to school all the time." you said

"Because she is the absolute worst now that she has 100,000 followers." complained Bruno

"80,000." corrected Nakia

The conversation stopped as Kamala's name boomed in the whole school while the counsellor called her.

You quickly hugged goodbye and went to your class, thinking about your best friend. Who also happenned to be your crush.

"And there was no chance she'd like me back, right?"
