A boy and his little sister walk down the street. The girl has skip in her step, chatting up a storm while her brother puts a wall up between them. Sighing and walking without purpose. Shouting and chanting make the two stop. Before the boy could stop her, she runs toward the noises. He runs after her and once he sees the commotion is about his stomach twist and turned at the sight. A girl slightly younger than himself curled up in pain and was restrained with vines as people threw rocks. Tears fell down her face hissing in pain. He jumped in without a thought holding her tight shielding her from the abuse. His arm turned gold and a shield popped around them. The others recognized the magic and scrammed away from the mayor's son. He wiped the girl's tears away as her eyes looked into his with fear,
"Hey, hey, it's fine. I won't hurt you. What's your name?" She calmed down in his arms.
"Faline."
