Chapter 12: Preparing For War

(AN: I definitely didn't just start writing this at 3 AM so don't bring it up, Uhhhhh I know I promised a upload schedule but forget that I'm bored with this story tbh so I'll slowly update this and probably write a new one..... Or not. You'll find out soon enough. I just feel I wrote myself into a corner due to having Arthur start off strong. I'm not a fan of it tbh but. I am looking forward to some character interactions. I at least want to do the whole school arc and see if I want to continue. I tried making this chapter at least somewhat original? idk the correct way of putting it. Enough of me though, READ ON!")

* 2 Years Later *

Sylvie Pov

"So let me see how far you two have come" Arthur had requested just standing a few feet away from me and Regis.

Regis being the show boat he always has been started it off, channeling the destruction rune. It resulted in him becoming a ferocious beast that I'd argue, rivaled me in size when I transform.

Next thing I knew Regis was no more than a blur, launching himself towards Arthur. Not batting an eye all it took was a single hand from Arthur to completely stop Regis.

"Is that it?" He asked with a slight hint of disappointment in face.

"I'll show you pup!" Regis growled in his baritone voice.

Blasting a beam of destruction, Arthur had used God step to get around the blast and land a solid blow behind the giant beast.

Raising my hand, I created a portal directly in front of the blast to avoid too much damage to the surrounding woods. Creating yet another portal behind Arthur for him to take the most of the attack.

Caught off guard from what I've done, Arthur turned to dissipate the beam entirely. Soon a cloud of steam from his water and fire mana blocked my vision. Swifty activating realmheart my attention caught Arthur and Regis moving in a blur, both using godstep to maneuver around one another. A second later a flash of light appeared and then I couldn't help but see Arthur sitting onto of an unconscious Regis the same way he did to the horde we fought, from what felt like centuries ago.

"He's improved well, however he'll need far more power than this for our future battles." Arthur said rubbing behind Regis' ear.

"And he will, we all will. We still have plenty of time before the war, perhaps more with a few changes that'll occur this time around." I replied waving my hand in a sign of disregard.

"You know, it's still kind of weird that I see you as my daughter yet you're physically older than I am." Arthur said with a sigh

He's not entirely wrong though, ever since I was reawakened it felt I was growing a lot faster to my original self before my sacrifice. In the humanoid form of mine, I looked around the age of a 16 year old girl. My strength on the other hand also dwarfs my previous strength as well since obtaining my clan's unique abilities.

"We'll let's not waste anymore time, I'd like to see what you've learned since we last been together." Arthur said with a hint of excitement.

A surge of power emerged from him, Realmheart. Following his intentions I too transformed, while bringing out Dawns Ballad. He smiled bringing out his own Aether blade.

The 10 year old boy became a flash and came into view on my right side, swinging in a horizontal motion. Flicking my wrist I blocked his blow with Dawns Ballad.

Still being no where near Arthur in terms of swordsmanship I knew I had to make it more fair by forcing him to rely on magic.

Producing pure panels of mana, I boxed Arthur in while condensing a huge amount of mana to launch towards him. However, as I predicted as much he used god step to get out and over my head.
