Robert's Visit

A week had passed since Taya found herself facing one of her biggest issues in life. That issue had been Robert Mark. She had been wanting to text him for some time now, believing that it had been long enough since the two last spoke. The sight of other men being attracted to her also didn't help her situation at all. No matter what she did, Robert Mark was on her mind all the time. There was nothing else to think about since she hadn't had an alien issue for a week now.
One day on her way to work, she caught someone approaching her at the corner of her eye. Taya had gotten good at spotting minor things like this over the weeks she'd encountered multiple alien threats. But what she didn't expect was to see Robert Mark approaching her with flowers. He looked as calm as ever with one hand in his pocket and the other holding the bouquet of some of the elegant flowers she'd ever seen.
"Um..." Taya didn't know what to say to him. "So what brings you to Boston, stranger?"
No words at all, Robert rushed in and hugged her. Taya nearly fell from her feet due to speed and strength getting the better of her. But this was not what Taya wanted. Using her new found strength, she preyed Robert off her and pushed him back.
"What are you doing?" Taya asked in frustration.
"It's just that I've missed you so much." Robert explained.
"You missed me?" Taya didn't feel any less frustrated now. "With all the time you've been gone, I expected you to have forgotten about me."
"I've been working." Robert said. "Alright, look, I know that's the worst explanation ever."
"Okay, I'm glad we both understand that part now." Taya said sarcastically.
"I didn't just come here to make up excuses." Robert said.
"I didn't expect you would." Taya waited for what Robert had to say next.
"Oh boy." Robert felt intimidated by Taya. "No joke, I made reservations for the two of us."
"It's bribery that we're doing now?" Taya was not impressed. "Oh let me guess, we've going to some 5 star Italian restaurant? Look Robert, wherever it is I don't care."
"It's at a zen retreat." Robert spoke quickly. "Just you and me. Best damn weekend you'll ever have."
"Well that doesn't sound... awful." Taya began to come around. "I've got the weekends off anyway. And I need some relaxation."
"Happy to hear it." Robert smiled. "Let's get you packing?"
"Oh I have to get to work." Taya revealed. She got in her car and promised Robert that after work, they'd be able to go. Robert couldn't argue her down. They would be cutting it close to reservation time, but that was the best he could do. Taya took off for work and the former Chosen One waited until she came back. From there, they headed off for the zen retreat in Cambridge. Robert checked them both in and headed upstairs for the hotel room.

The room they would be staying in was small and nice. The bed took up most of the space but they weren't going to need much. Robert placed their bags in the closet beside them. With not a lot to do at the moment, they laid their backs down on the bed and stared up at the ceiling.
"You want to have sex?" Taya asked out of the blue.
"What?" Robert hadn't even expected that sort of question. "I mean sure I don't mind."
"Why exactly do you sound nervous?" Taya had caught on to Robert's unusual response. "We've had sex before."
"So me agreeing to having sex is weird now?" Robert was confused.
"Sit your ass on top of me and start riding." Taya didn't want to talk anymore.
"Heard you loud and clear!" Robert quickly jumped on top of Taya, taking his clothes off as quickly as possible. The love they shared together caused whatever tension to fade away for the time being. Taya had done so much to make Robert feel good and she was not keeping quiet about it. Robert on the other hand was just excited to finally have Taya like this. They hadn't seen each other in a long while and their interactions with each definitely showed it. While they definitely wanted to try for another round, Robert had not spent the money on this retreat just for the two of them to stay in the room all day. He led her out of the room and took her to the meditation room.

The meditation room was created for those who entered to calm their emotions and focus in one what troubled them. Taya was one of those people who needed meditation. Things had been very intense in her life recently. From the alien that disguised himself as a little kid to the three mercenaries that attacked her after work. Taya sensed how much all of this bothered her and thought about it. All of those situations made her feel weak and defenseless. While she couldn't tell what Robert was meditating on, a part of her wanted to know. He seemed so focused that she believed he was actually going through things. At first his breathing was intense and then eventually he calmed down and relaxed. Taya hadn't realized how much she was thinking about Robert. That's all she could think about right now. Not even redirecting the images in her head was helping to block Robert out. She wasn't relaxed anymore. He wasn't making her feel relaxed. Her muscles tensed up without her even trying. Robert was all in her head and now she was stressed. Stressed because of the relationship and uncertain it all felt.
The twenty minute meditation session ended for the day and Taya felt like she had wasted a lot of it not meditating at all. Robert, on the other hand, felt great. After he had settled his mind down, breathing felt easier now.
"Taya," Robert said happily. "We gotta do that again!"
"Oh yeah?" Taya knew that Robert was feeling better than her.
"You okay?" Robert noticed how tense Taya seemed. "I feel some sort of strange energy coming from you."
"Robert," Taya began. "It's just that... I'm hungry. Don't you feel hungry?"
"Well yeah." Robert didn't believe her. "There's an organic cafe nearby."
"Organic?" Taya asked. "Does that mean we're eating healthy food?"
"Like, yeah." Robert found her question to be weird. "It'll keep you alive longer."
