Chapter 15

Jason

I pretended to be asleep when Max tried to get out of bed in the morning. Since I was curious to know what he would do to me while I was asleep. Sometime during the night, I gravitated to his side of the bed. He was so nice to hold and sleep that I did not want to let go of him so I pulled him closer to me. I felt a gentle kiss on my forehead as he finally got out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

My eyes snapped open and I touched my forehead where he kissed me. I heard the bathroom door open so I closed my eyes. Before you know it he went out for the bedroom door, closing it softly behind him. Once he was gone I opened my eyes and just laid in bed as I had a lot of things running through my mind. The one thing that made me extremely happy was that I turned out to be Max's mate.

I reluctantly got out of bed and went to get ready for the day. When I went downstairs Max was nowhere to be found. Since I had not seen his house properly the last couple of times I came over, I took this opportunity to look around. He had picture frames on the wall of his family and some of them were his childhood photos. He looked so adorable that made me want to pinch his cheeks. He had his father's looks and his mother's eyes, while his little brother was a carbon copy of his mother with his father's eyes.

After that, I went to search for Max and I found him in the middle of working out. Just looking at him working out with his white t-shirt all drenched with sweat clinging to his body and those black shorts that hung low on his hips. I could see abs through the t-shirt and damn did that give me a boner. He caught me staring at him so I looked away and said, "good morning Max, I see you are busy working out. I'll um come back later". My face was completely red before he could say anything to me I ran away from the door as I heard his laughter behind me.

While I waited for him to finish his workout I turned on the tv and scrolled through Netflix and settled on watching supernatural. I watched a little of this show with Roxy and Oliver so I knew the storyline. I got so engrossed in watching the show that Max had to come to get me for breakfast. I sat on one of the chairs near the counter as Max started to place the items for breakfast on the countertop. Then he put a plate of pancakes in front of me and it said, "Sweetheart will you be my boyfriend?".

I looked at the pancakes where it said, "sweetheart will you be my boyfriend?". Then glanced at him. He was so nervous that he could not even look at me. I could see the gears turning in his head as he waited for me to respond. I sat for a couple of minutes to process what he had asked me. I thought about the pros and cons of being with Max, but then now that I know that I am his mate too. It changes our relationship's status and I am so glad that he decided to ask me to be his boyfriend officially.

I got up from the chair and went closer to Max, and he panicked and started walking backwards. His back was pressed against the wall and I quickly took a hold of his shirt. Then I said," where are you going, Max? I thought you want to listen to my reply to the question you asked me". Before I could say anything else he started to ramble," sorry I should not have done that. I know it is too soon. I just told you who I am yesterday and we hardly know each other. The timing isn't right and I don't even know if you romantically like me. I'm being too hasty we can start as just being friends if you're more comfortable with that".

He opened his mouth to say something more however, I beat him to it and said," shut up and let me talk idiot. I have not said anything and you are running away. Just listen to what I have to say now". Max nodded his head and shut his mouth so that I could speak. I took a deep breath and said," Max I have never been in a relationship with a guy before. I have been straight for a long time and have only slept with girls. This is new to me and these feelings that I have for you scare me. However, I like how you constantly tease and flirt with me and call me sweetheart. I missed having you around when you did not come to school for 2 weeks. When I saw that bruise on your back, I became worried about your well-being.

Max, you drive me crazy with your antics but, I like spending time with you. I feel like I can be myself around you. So Max what I am saying is that I accept you as my boyfriend and mate. You are stuck with me for life now babe". When I said those words I felt so relieved and then he kissed me, I was shocked at first however I wrapped my arms around his neck as he held my waist to pull me closer. The kiss felt like magic and the sparks that we were feeling from the mate bond were insane. I took control over the kiss and he let me take the lead which felt like complete bliss.

I started to run my hand through his hair and gave it a little tug he let out a moan. I smiled into the kiss, then I felt one of his hands go down to grab my ass and he gave it a little squeeze. I let out a loud moan of my own, damn why is my ass so sensitive and he found one of my weak spots. It was getting heated between us and this was only our first kiss. We needed to stop before things go out of hand, but I did not want to pull away. So he pulled away first and I let out a whine and tried to pull him back to kiss him again. He covered my mouth with his hand to stop me.

He looked at me and said, "Sweetheart we need to stop otherwise I won't be able to hold Ares back. Let's take it slow we have plenty of time and my lips are not going anywhere. You can kiss me anytime you want ok". I calmed down and said," Sorry I got lost in the moment and I could not help it as it felt amazing. Damn babe, you have some mad kissing skills, where did you kiss like that huh? ". I just called him babe I hope he doesn't mind, but it felt so right and he calls me sweetheart that the term babe just felt natural to me.

He glanced at me and said," you are my first kiss, I have not kissed anyone before you. I wanted my mate to be my first kiss". I was taken aback by his statement and then said," aww you are so sweet, babe you waited for me. Now I feel like crap since I did not save myself for you. But not to worry I will give you some of my other firsts, just wait and watch mate. Since we have calmed down, now can we eat breakfast I am hungry?". He grabbed my hand and led me to the chair near the counter to sit down.

We resumed our breakfast and I was trying to stay composed. I kept peeking at his lips and wanted to jump across and lock lips with him again, but I held back. Both of us finished our breakfast at the same time and this time I got up to clear the dirty plates. Max told me that he would do it but I said that it was not a problem. He watched me as I washed the plates and left them to dry on the rack. I looked at Max and said," I have a couple of hours before I need to head home, what do you want to do?".

Then he said, "my wolf Ares wants to meet you, are you willing to see him? I won't force you it's just that he so excited that you accepted us as your mate. I can tell him to back off for now if you are not comfortable sweetheart". I replied," yeah I would love to meet him since I want to know more about him too. This would be my first time talking to a wolf so I am kind of nervous". He came to me and held my face before saying," don't worry he won't harm you as you are our mate. It is the same as talking to me and just think he is another personality within me. Does that make it a little easier for you now Jace?". I nodded my head and he looked into my eyes for confirmation before letting Ares take over.
