Once Upon a Nightmare

Author's Note: For those who haven't seen my tiktoks, allow me to give you some context on my RSA OCs .

Prince Aiden Daybreak: Based on Princess Aurora/Prince Phillip (Sleeping Beauty), is the future King and Heir to the Dawn Throne.

Jean Veen: Prince Naveen (Princess and the Frog) Best friends with Aiden, and also a prince. His kingdom is allied with Aiden's, hence they grew up together.

Faust, Fern and Mavin: Flora, Fauna, Merryweather (Sleeping Beauty) Faeries and protectors of Prince Aiden.

Aryn Tidus: Ariel (The little mermaid), the school Rebel, very spunky and athletic. He enjoys adventures and likes to collect souvenirs whenever he goes someplace or experiences something new.

Matt Haddler: The Mad Hatter (Alice in Wonderland), has great magical power, but suffers from self deprivation. He endlessly struggles looking for his life's purpose, and lives vicariously through other people's happiness.

Merrick O'Claddaugh: Princess Merida (Brave), is only mentioned in passing, but is a second year at RSA and is captain of the archery club.

Chapter 6: Dreamwalkers

Aside from the odd concoction Lilia had made for dessert, dinner with Malleus had been lovely. The huge dining table was elaborately decorated even though they only used one eighth of it, and the meal the ghosts had cooked up was both fanciful and delicious.

"Do you guys eat like this every night?" Yuu sipped the mead she'd been given to wash the taste of dessert out of her mouth.

"Not exactly. For the most part I usually have dinner in my room." Malleus explained, stirring the liquid in his own goblet. "It's nice to eat civilly for a change. I'd like to do it more often, if you wouldn't mind visiting."

"I'd love to, but can we keep it casual next time?" She ran hands over the bodice of her dress. "The gown you gave me is lovely... but this corset is killing me. Especially since I just ate a big meal." She let out a small burp, covering her mouth. "Excuse me."

Malleus only laughed.

"Of course... I just thought for your first visit here, we'd make it a memorable experience for you." He set the glass down and shifted in his seat to better face her.

"Well it was. I'm really glad I came." She smiled affectionately and glanced down the table at Grim who was still stuffing his face. She laughed. "So is he."

"He managed to gobble up that pastry Lilia made with such gusto that he has my undying respect." Malleus chuckled behind his hand.

"Mine too... I don't understand what he was thinking about, adding ingredients like fish and custard into the same dish." She had to hold back the urge to vomit. "I hope I didn't offend him."

"He's used to it. Poor Silver has had to put up with his cooking for a much longer time. He too has my respect." Malleus took her hand. "Why don't we leave Grim to his devices and go walk off this meal?"

"Good idea... ah-" Yuu glanced over her shoulder when she saw Sebek and Silver lingering in the corridor. "-are they coming too?"

"They mean well, but I suppose they can be a bit overbearing." He pulled her in closer, and with a flash the two vanished from sight.

"Malleus-sama!" Sebek ran out. "Drat! Not again!"

"Leave them be, Sebek." Lilia chuckled. "Privacy is needed for romance to bloom."

"More food please!" Grim held his plate out, licking his maw.
